I suggest another connection:
shabot6000 with a cute robot, rabbi and friend.

Some think it the best reason for the internet (I think JibJab is better.)

Brian, do you listen to hip-hop? Can you name 5 rappers without using google? Perhaps you've given hip-hop a fair hearing, but it seems more likely you're just regurgitating some opinion you heard in 1990.

Back to the topic of rap/blog connections, I think this lyric from Mos Def is interesting. It's meant to describe hip-hop, but could equally apply to the blogosphere:

Stimulant and sedative, original, repetitive
Violently competitive, a school unacredited...

C-Rap is like blogging? Only someone who deep down is very superficial would say so. Formulaic chanting glorifying the debased attitudes of cons, excons, and wannabe cons, is pure lowest denominator stuff. The blogs I read, not necessarily excluding this one, are a lot better than that!

I am a fan of this article, but I would have appreciated at least some discussion of the parallels between Chrenkin' Off and Gettin' Crunk.
