Testing

I just published a huge post, but it’s not showing up on my computer, although it’s recorded as having been published. So this is a test, to see whether there’s a problem.

[ADDENDUM: It worked! Suddenly they both appeared. A little Blogger trick I once learned when faced with a similar glitch.]

Thanks JAF–but when I do that, it still doesn’t show up. For some reason the only remedy I’ve found so far is to post a new and different post.

    Neo-Neocon,
I really like your blog and I check on it from time to time. I will be linking to your site.

About the blogger problem, I have that too. The dashboard will show that the post was posted, but it doesn’t show up. What I do is go back to the dashboard, find the post and click edit. I then post it again. Usually that takes care of it. For me anyways.

Maybe I should start having Open Threads like LGF!

As far as the refresh button goes, I may be computer challenged, but not that challenged. When this glitch happens, hitting the refresh button doesn’t seem to do the job. For some reason, putting up another post usually does.

Just a chance to say howdy and comment on Sunday’s Fall Tree Post. You’ll get another chance if you come to West Texas. The trees are just now showing the slightest bit of color. It’s going to be a late Fall.

    Dear Neo- Con;
I have to say something which is off-topic for this post. I admire your writing and would love to see you comment on this subject.
That is to say the current political hysteria. i went through Wikipedia- looking up moral panic and then panic- and got onto a lot of useful information that seems relevant to your complaint from friends and peers. I’d love to read your psycho-educated thoughts on this subject. To me, it seems as though a great many of the Bush-deranged are in a frightened panic-struck mode. (Melanie Phillips writes about this). The panic seems to have hardened into some kind of emotional/social position that can’t be reached by normal, conversational channels.
I hope this gives you some inspiration- I admire your blog tremendously.

Exactly. Hit refresh. Your ‘puter is showing you a cached copy of the site. Doh!

  7. Emerson Says:

Refresh your page. I have to do it all the time when I post something new on Blogger

blogger publishes your post, but for some reason when you check from your computer you don’t get the updated version. i’ve found that if you start a new web search, go to some other website that links you, and go to your blog through that link, you’ll see the updated version

I agree with Ron- this is like ‘open mic’ night at the comedy club.

So, do you have this in a 44 tall?

  10. Ron Says:

I have to comment here, because, well, there really is no reason to do so! It’s like writing a review of a sound check.

I’ve been experiencing a lot of strange little glitches with blogger for the past three days. One thing that has been happening is, for whatever reason, blogger is having trouble processing html. It keeps returning errors on my links, saying that they aren’t closed, when they are, in fact closed.

So far, I haven’t lost anything permanently. I just retry, and eventually it works, but it can be time consuming.
