Passive-aggressive Blogger on the warpath (important announcement here) — 12 Comments

  1. I moved from old Blogger to new Blogger with no problem. It took them nearly a full day but aside from that, it went smoothly. Much more smoothly than posting under old Blogger.

But I’ll bookmark your other site, too, just in case.

  2. I’m using wordpress after I imported all my posts from blogspot. Only problem was, wordpress puts their permalinks in their titles, and I put my links for my post in a lot of the blogspot titles. This meant that all those links were lost if they were in the blogspot title. Obviously you don’t use links in your titles.

  3. I’m still resisting the Borg and assimilation; I don’t like a number of things about posting comments on blogs that have made the change…and although I’m not certain about this, it would appear that I won’t be able to use my current “Nom de ‘Net”, either.

  4. I switched from old blogger to new blogger. The new blogger was very frustrating.

So I switched to wordpress.com. Free. Works fine. And, as long as you don’t switch from old blogger to new blogger, you can import your stuff from old blogger to wordpress; they’ve got a tool.

  5. Are you sure this isn’t just another example of that conservative “fear of change” we’ve been reading so much about lately? 😉

I switched to New Blogger and had no problems, I like it much better.

  6. unknown blogger: I’m glad you had a good experience, but I’ve heard a LOT of complaints from others. Plus, since I’m moving soon anyway, I don’t want to go through an extra change. And I suppose I don’t like the fact that they sprung it on me as a surprise, without giving me a choice (which makes me more of a libertarian, I guess :-)).

  7. While the changeover has some…irritating attributes…I have found that there are some improvements in functionality and an enormous improvement in its ability to handle folks (like myself) who have attached very long Blog Rolls to their blogs. The old one was taking several minutes to open up and often locked up completely into a “not-reponding” loop.

I invented several new curses during that period and I have found myself using them less and less now except when I’m at work and when referring to Islamists and /or Commieqaeda Moonbats.

I suspect that like most electronica, Blogger will get better with time.
