The reason why Pat observed the media not pulling the Lebanon’s leg about bombs compared to Israeli restraint is because of a simple thing. Israel’s enemies understand Israel. They understand that Israel’s weakness to criticism. Israelis listen to criticisms. Lebanese don’t give a fauk. Cause they’re not civilized, and it just ain’t because of the recent civil war(s) either. Israelis are civilized, too civilized, and their enemies recognize that all civilizations have the same weak points more or less. Certainly in the 21st century.
They get a pass on it for killing each other, the Muslims, because Muslims don’t really give a damn when people die. I’m talking about the culture here, the socio-political thing. You can complain to Hell and Back about Ayrabs killing Muslims, Muslims killing Persians, and they aren’t going to change their behavior. They’ll be pissed, but that’s about it.
When I say pissed, I mean Cartoon Jihad.
The Palestinians aren’t innocent, but I think there’s another side. You said coerced, Neo. The way I see it, the Palestinians have never been forced to submit, to change their ways. So they are still gung ho about fighting, and since they aren’t exactly dumb (well not everyone of them), they realized that if they use their children, they can win… maybe.
To get the Palestinians to choose not to fight and to choose sanity over insanity, Neo, I think Total War must be applied, American style, on the Palestinians. Otherwise, they’re not going to stop. And even if they wanted to stop, neo, they couldn’t. Not with Israel on one side, and the terrorists on another. Bordered by Ayrabs of course.
It is a national consciousness issue. Their cultural fabric doesn’t reocognize that they have been beaten. Their bones and their muscles do not know defeat, do not recognize it, do not accept it.
In response to Pat’s talk about warmongering evil Bushitler, it again proves my point. People who do’t give a F, are immune to such criticism because they didn’t give a F in the first place, now did they. But Bush cares, and because he cares, he is vulnerable. Vulnerable as in… retracting Bring it On. Retracting… etc etc. Bloody sermons are effective, but ONLY if you believe in them and ONLY if you don’t give a damn what other people say.
