Hello Neo. I’ve just come across your site. The ‘point’ of your blog is interesting/funny - still getting a feel for it. The ‘look’ is great. Happy Thanksgiving! I remember Thanksgiving very well from my days in grad school. It’s a wonderful holiday, and super important to you guys, I know. Sometimes I felt Thanksgiving was more important there than Christmas. I don’t mean this sacriligiously. For the religious Xmas is NB, no doubt; and for the non-religious it’s an NB family day. But for Americans-as-Americans, Thanksgiving is the bees knees, as it were. Enjoy!

There is nothing corny about Norman Rockwell! It was only on the coasts, I think, that they looked down on him for respecting Middle America and everything it stands for.

It is true that the typical American life didn’t look like a Rockwell painting, but it was probably closer than most want to admit. I believe that America has been blessed more than any nation in history. After all, though we may not be the melting pot some claim, we are the “hybred nation” of the smartest, toughest, and most resilent people ever known on earth! Happy Thanksgiving!

“Freedom From Want” has always struck me as the sore thumb among these, seemingly more reflective of Continental attitudes than characteristically American ones. Why not make it “freedom to produce”? In any case, I’m certainly grateful for the freedom and consequent abundance that I have the great good fortune to enjoy as an American. For those I thank my countrymen and women, and our founding generations perhaps most of all. Happy Thanksgiving wishes to all!

How do they consistently manage to make the cranberries conform to the exact size, shape and contours of the can they put them in? This has always managed to amaze me.
