Richard Landes has a roundup.
And here, Karsenty adds that if France2 and Enderlin continue to assert their innocence, that “we will have victims of terror attacks that directly resulted from the [al-Dura] footage sue France 2.”
Good. I’d like to see some accountability for the purposeful (cameraman Talal) and/or the recklessly negligent (newsman Enderlin) promulgation of lies.
Remember that this suit was started by France2 and Enderlin, in an effort to clear their names. Now, as with the case of David Irving, their hubris may come back to haunt them.
And wouldn’t it be nice if this case could get the publicity the original footage of al Durah did?

Neo,
I’ve never been clear on what became of the boy and his Dad? If the boy was killed, he’d have been buried. So. If not killed, then might he not still be alive to be found and interviewed? Or perhaps we will learn he is dead, though having expired at a later time and of another cause? The Dad, on the other hand wasn’t killed, so is he still around?

Sdferr:
Most likely the Palis snuffed them both, to avoid the possibility of anyone later asking them embarrassing questions.

As far as I know the father is still around. There are rumors that he was in trouble with the terrorists-that-be, and his participation in the deal was a sort of payback.
It’s unclear about the boy, but whenever I ask that question I get the answer that a dead boy was buried and was supposed to be al Durah. But it’s unclear who it really was, and of course there has never been an autopsy or anything like that.

Thanks Neo.

Maybe the US should have partitioned off France as was done to West Germany, after WWII.

I dont know how much of an impact this will have in France. Hopefully they will begin to see their official press as the hardcore in-the-tank ideologues that they are.

Ok, maybe not “hardcore” in-the-tank, but in the ballpark.

“And wouldn’t it be nice if this case could get the publicity the original footage of al Durah did?”
Indeed it would be. It would also be nice if Lucy Lawless were about to ring my doorbell and ask if she can come up and get out of these wet clothes. And that’s equally likely to happen.

Lucy Lawless has, now, in her new singing career: a tummy - a pot belly - exactly as Bruce Willis’ girlfriend described in “Pulp Fiction”. And, exactly as Bruce Willis’ girlfriend said she herself would do: Lucy Lawless wears t-shirts which are two sizes too small, and which slide up above the top of her pants, thus revealing her pot belly. And, God as my witness: it is the sexiest thing I have ever seen. It absolutely slays me.
