I can't speak for all of these "angry activists," but Ms. Sheehan's activities speak entirely of malignant narcissism. Everything is about her, not about honoring her son's sacrifice. Her association with questionable and malicious characters shows that she is not interested in anything but her own edification and glory. I understand that she lost her son; I lost 54 brother and sister Soldiers in my recent Iraq tour, but you don't see me running around crying "Woe is me!" about it. She and many like her are crazy nutjobs who use the noble sacrifice of their children to further a cause that is almost exclusively leftist, socialist, and anti-American.

Sgt Whitaker-

Thank you for your service. I'm sorry for the loss of your fellow soldiers. Today we honor them. I hope that the mission that they gave their lives for is accomplished.

Regardin Cindy Sheehan, she had an Op-Ed in the local paper today. I could Fisk it, but her closing sentences say it all: "We need to make Memorial Day a thing of the past. Then I will celebrate."

Memorial Day serves as a reminder of the sacrifice our ancestors made in the past, and that our contemporaries are making today in freedom's name. It should never be a thing of the past.

"Woman with Dead Child" is so filled in pain it's beyond words. She is truly powerful in her expression of the depths of loss and despair.

Sheehan is simply a pain.

Could Cindy Sheehan be the result of expecting fifteen minutes of fame and celebrating celebreties?
