Did you notice the part of the article about whether US export chickens could be washed in chlorinated water? On a theoretical level, the Euros like to talk about social justice and human rights, but when they have to act it is mostly at the level of dead chickens.

It’s that large boulder of salt you always have to take with any sort of “america’s hated” type information. It’s all talk in most places, with the French normally taking every advantage to use it to get business for French state owned companies.

The US is always relied upon to do the heavy lifting and not complain too much. Someone like Bush who will do what is required and take the heat like he has is invaluable both to the US and Europe.
