Nixon, not surprisingly with the suit on. I recall reading years ago about the suit at the beach photo. A man who could never let his hair down. Sad, but true. A mismatch of personality to occupation: an introvert in an extrovert’s profession, who felt the need to carefully craft every response.
It was not for nothing that Mad Magazine had Nixon saying “In my sincerest insincerity.” Sad.

Despite being from California, I think Nixon was born wearing a suit. If I remember correctly, the beach photo was a PR disaster because he was so obviously uncomfortable in this “regular guy” setting. Should have stuck to dark suits, power ties, and corner offices.

If you read the true story behind Watergate here I believe you will see just how many problems Nixon truly had. Both personally and professionally.
