Searching for Padma

Just a few moments ago I checked my sitemeter and noticed a modest yet definite surge in traffic from the usual. When I looked at “referrals” to see what was going on, it appeared that many of my new visitors were coming to the blog searching for photos of Padma Lakshmi.

Now, this blog is not exactly Padma Central. But I have indeed written five posts about her, most of them featuring images of the comely Ms. Lakshmi, and most having to do with her marriage to and then divorce from the decidedly-less-than-photogenic author Salman Rushdie.

But that was some time ago. Whatever could be going on with Padma today?

It took some sleuthing, but a search of Google Trends coupled with the deployment of a few other well-honed but secret techniques disclosed the fact that Padma was a guest at the recent White House Press Correspondents’ Dinner—you know, the one that featured so-called humorist Wanda Sykes and her malevolent hopes for Rush Limbaugh’s kidneys.

Apparently Ms. Lakshmi caused a small sensation of her own, although it’s not recorded whether President Obama noticed: her dress is reported to have been see-through. The photos themselves, though, are remarkably sedate; her peekaboo body parts are only slightly visible, and then only in very close-up photos of her.

You do the Google search yourself. I’ve done enough.

[NOTE: In the last paragraph I originally had a link to my own Google search. I deleted it because a reader informed me that the first URL on the list contained a nasty virus.]

I tried your link today, 5/16 and it brought up a google search page, the very first listing of which i clicked on, only to find myself fighting off an attempt to install a very nasty virus on my computer. Only by taking the computer down hard could I escape it and had to do a system restore to clean it out. Please alert your readers!
