It needs a few olives for additional texture and color.

If I have nightmares tonight, it’s all your fault.

Re the second recipe. Have you tried grating Velveeta lately?

Believe it or don’t but I’ve actually seen this one before in my youth. I think it was something my mother clipped and put in her recipe box. She never dared.

I liked the “if you want to dress this up a bit” part.

I’m sure this is a 50′s recipe – it has all the earmarks for sure! I have eaten the jello/cheese one when I was a child. Definitely not a modern Jello treat!

It is for real. They were going for the More-Cholesterol-Than-Eggs-Benedict prize.

I’m sure it’s real – I’ve seen similar things before. The worst Jello recipe that I have is in one of my cookbooks, although it’s an anecdote more than a recipe. The author talks about how her mother once brought a red-and-yellow concoction to the table that she announced to be raspberry Jello. When asked about the source of the yellow streaks, she replied that she had put some butter in it to “make it richer.”

If there are worse Jello recipes out there, I am not going to spend my time searching for them. These will do.
