i have not confirmed this...
enjoy!!

http://www.whoisjohngalt.com/2009/09/the-marked-card.html

the marked card
Card sharks check a deck of playing cards for marking by flipping them. Every card's back is supposed to be exactly the same, and any marked cards appear as "animation" if you flip through the deck.

Not looking for anything particular, I was looping that stupid video of Obama's consistent smile, when I noticed, well, one smile is a little different. Right click on the video to turn on looping, and watch the fold on Obama's left cheek. It's there.

So, I was wondering who this person was, who elicited less of a smile than everyone else. Probably some coincidence -- maybe an an ambassador from Outer Mongolia or some third-world no-place, right?

But then I looked up that particular picture here, on the State Department's flickr page. And, if you look at it closely, Obama really does smile differently for one person. And, it turns out, that person is not some "nobody." I'll be damned -- it's someone relevant.

THey are limited by both institutional safeguards (the Old Guard), the oath to protect the COnstitution, as well as posse comitatus.

There are a number of situations in which the Act does not apply. These include:

National Guard units while under the authority of the governor of a state;

Troops used under the order of the President of the United States pursuant to the Insurrection Act, as was the case during the 1992 Los Angeles Riots.

Under 18 U.S.C. § 831, the Attorney General may request that the Secretary of Defense provide emergency assistance if civilian law enforcement is inadequate to address certain types of threats involving the release of nuclear materials, such as potential use of a nuclear or radiological weapon. Such assistance may be by any personnel under the authority of the Department of Defense, provided such assistance does not adversely affect U.S. military preparedness.

so if we go at each other in response to such policies as you say are not convenient, they becoem VERY convenient.

as i said, they need US to act...
we do the work, they just set up conditions.

like spending years putting dominoes in place.
then tricking someone into hitting the first ones
and then waiting to collet way way way at the end where they will end up.

everyone else will be reacting...

ie, they are in our OODA loop... and i cant get this across because the informatino is way to voluminous. if youc an write a 10 page paper on a fold in a protien, how could i cover every objection and point that is in somones mind in a few paragraphs?

Obama is making at least some of us, like me, paranoid. I cannot grasp how he manages to have a 50% approval rate.
They must be doing something to the water.

neo - Thanks much for this post (which I just linked to).

Let me add just one point: His smile should vary with the person he is posing with, and -- in every case -- he is grinning triumphantly, when he should be smiling diplomatically.

huxley: I think we need to be careful in drawing conclusions from drops in Obama's approval ratings. Some people disapprove because they find him too radical. But some disapprove because either he's not radical enough, or he's so far been ineffective in pushing the most radical legislation and getting it passed. I'm not sure which reason accounts most for the drop in his approval among the young.

Will he resort to a draft, to fill the ranks of the military with surly, uneducated, unemployable young toughs who are loyal to him personally instead of to the Constitution?

Part of American exceptionalism is that people even ask these kinds of questions. Instead of bending over and grabbing their ankles, they are using reason, as Ayn Rand herself defined it, to think, to plan, and to create contingencies. They aren't just Woodstock people who sit around waiting for somebody else to give them medicine, food, water, and shelter while they hit the Bong for the 99th time.

If I was Obama or somebody he trusted for the real deal, like Valerie, I would tell him to avoid the military. THey are limited by both institutional safeguards (the Old Guard), the oath to protect the COnstitution, as well as posse comitatus.

Those things are better avoided. Instead, creating an army in the mold of ACORN organization can result in a stealth organization. You don't need an army. You just need an organization that has a chain of command that will do what you tell them to do. Obama doesn't need to send people into the US military for that. As evidenced by ACORN, they have already produced the kind of organization required. And Unions like SEIU have even taken that a step further into the physicality realm.
