Since we’ve been discussing RINOs lately (and note today’s unsurprising news is that, as Snowe goes, so goes Collins), it’s interesting to take a look at how newly-reformed reratting ex-RINO Arlen Specter is doing in his bid for re-election as a Democrat rather than Republican.
Depending on the polls, it seems the answer is “so-so” or “not so good.” The one linked above reports that only 31% of those polled think he should be re-elected.
I used the term “reratting” for Specter (see this) because this is actually his second change of political affiliation. He was a Democrat until 1965. So he’s just come back home after all these years of wandering in the RINO wilderness.

Well well well….it looks like ol Spector isn’t liked by the repubs he betrayed, and isn’t liked by the a$$es he decided to kiss any better!
Fortunately regardless of who wins that seat, be it democrat or republican, Spector appears to be finished as a senator.
Good riddance.

well Churchill did say that it takes a special skill to re-rat,perhaps Spector hasn’t that skill.

I think that sad, craven, impotent, fawning egomaniac could be a hood ornament for either party’s team bus. No wonder the leadership of both parties are stocking their Maginot Line blockhouses with turkey-slaughtering whitepapers.

I seem to recall that Specter said in 2004 that this would be his last term in the Senate. So his word is worth roughly a bucket of warm spit.
After having been at various times a Democrat, Libertarian, and Independent, I registered Republican for the first time in 2004 for the specific purpose of voting against Specter in the primary.

I hope he gets voted out; I’ll certainly (as a PA resident) do my part…
