My blog’s been down for about an hour and a half—ye olde server problems. Fortunately, this doesn’t happen too often. But every now and then it does, and it can be quite frustrating.
I will be busy for a few hours right now, and I plan to post here later in the day or even tonight. But I wanted to take a moment just to mention that, if in the future you should ever find you can’t reach this blog for any significant amount of time, go to a back-up blog I set up a while back at http://backupneo.blogspot.com . I’ll be posting there in the interim if there are any significant problems here.
So, please make a note of that, just in case.

Neo,
Great to know there’s a backup. However, you mis-spelled your backup site. You left out the ‘s’ in ‘blogspot’.
I set up a while back at http://backupneo.blogpot.com
“Blogpot” suggests something else entirely.
I’m a lousy proofer, so I’m always surprised to catch something like this.

Ooops! Haste makes waste. Will fix.

Noted.
Great to know I’ll still be able to get my fix.

So if your blog ever goes down, we will remember “I seem to recall she has a backup site. I wonder what it was called? Neobackup? Backupneoneo? Darn.”
Or we will bookmark it but forget you have a backup site we have bookmarked.

Assistant Village Idiot: well, with one more try, you’d be there. Is “backupneo” so very counter-intuitive?

Good Lord!!!
When you bookmark it, move the new bookmark to just above or just below neo’s current one
(I’m being had, aren’t I?)

This techie stuff, what with “blog might be down” and “here’s the backup” and “moving the Amazon links around,” it’s like we’re all the neighborhood kids, kind of Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland, and we’re all in this together, and we’re gonna put on a show down at Mr. Geezer’s barn, and, (breathlessly) and We’re Gonna Save Western Civilization! We can do it! And hey. . . we might.
But then, I’m about half techie . . .

It’s always SOMETHING. The first post I made that I really liked I sent an email about it to a bunch of friends. Then, just to make sure the newest gift to Western Civ didn’t get lost in the shuffle I went to the server site and started a data base backup.
Then I discovered that the web site doesn’t work while the data base is being backed up.

Neo, all kidding aside, are you doing your own coding?

Cap’n Rusty: No, I wouldn’t dare. A friend helps me. But this today was a server problem, apparently.

You now have a special folder in my bookmarks called Backups devoted specially to you! I hope you feel flattered by this great honor.
