Not so fast, Representative Owens

Could it be that Hoffman won after all in NY 23? A voting snafu in a vital county, and absentee ballots yet untallied, might end up putting him in the House of Representatives after all

Too late for the historic health are bill, of course, for which Owens cast one of the deciding votes. But no matter; if Owens hadn’t been around, Pelosi would almost certainly have twisted an additional Blue Dog arm to get her magic number.

Nice idea but no, I don’t think Hoffmann has a chance. Most of those votes cast were made before Scozzafava quit the race so a good percentage of the votes will be hers. Hoff would need over 3000 votes out of 10,000 cast. I don’t see how that’s likely in a three way split where Owens will probably get at least half while Scuzzie and Hoff have to split the difference. It would be sweet justice but lady luck hasn’t been too kind us lately.

    We can always “hope” it’ll “change”… ;-)
