Going cold turkey for Thanksgiving — 22 Comments

  1. We haven’t had TV for 30 years. That may have helped me go from socialist to postliberal.

No internet, though, I would find hard these days. How did I ever live without search engines?

    Happy Thanksgiving.

  2. Obviously there are things much worse . Happy Thanksgiving. Oh I dream of pumpkin pie, I must go now.

  3. Taking a break from the Internet is probably a good idea. I should do it myself, but it’s easier said than done.

It’s not like I don’t have anything else to do. I’ve been acquiring interesting books at a furious pace lately, almost by accident, some of which I described here. And believe it or not, I’ve bought a few more since then. Just a week ago I found a book about the Congress of Vienna in a bargain bin at the supermarket.

  4. Have a wonderful warm and joyful holiday! (not much joy other than from friends and family these days, is it?)

    Will wait for your return

  5. You could google “How to cope without internet over Thanksgiving”….hehe….Happy Thanksgiving!

  6. One has to admit, the picture on Drudge with the Salahi’s flanking a grinning Biden is a hoot.
To quote Bugs Bunny, “What a maroon!”

Another incredible thing this administration is showing us, eh? May as well take the fence down around the White House.

  7. Neo,

You’ll probably get this after the fact, but I hope you and yours have a safe, warm, loving and all around wonderful Thanksgiving.

  8. rickl, that looks like a good set of books to read acquired at a good price. I hope that the library that threw out Solzhenitsyn’s Gulag Archipelago replaced it with another copy. It would be a shame to remove such a classic book from a library’s bookshelves: a form of censorship.

  9. Via BigGovernment, a nice big picture article about the nefarious methods of lefty fraud that we love to loath (but wish we didn’t have to). Is the jig up? Will we have a lot more to be thankful for this time next year?

  10. “”Will we have a lot more to be thankful for this time next year?
    Mathew M””

I’m encouraged at how truth and goodness really do find thei way through. It really isn’t pie in the sky optimism. Its reality.
