…how the Democratic Party left them.
It’s another “change” story. The money quote:
The reason we feel this way is that we think Obama didn’t just let the Democrats’ mask slip, he yanked it off completely and revealed the true horrors that may have always lurked unbeknownst to us in this party.

Predictions of dramatic change, such as the demise of the Democratic Party, are seldom reliable, especially since no one was forced to vote for Obama. I also suspect that by November Obamacare will be almost forgotten by most swing voters. The Democratic Party survived Jimmy Carter, virtual treason during Viet-Nam and actual treason during the Civil War, just as the Republicans survived the Great Depression and isolationism, it will survive Obama and the Obamacare vote.
A bigger question is whether the United States will survive Obama?

The only thing that can save the Democratic party is the ineptitude of the Republican party. Hillbuzz is absolutely correct in that the mask has been pulled off.
However, it will be Hillary that will outflank Obama and will manage to be fired, thus obtaining the victim-hood that is so critical to her base.
There is a major and long-lasting realignment going on right now. Jews and private sector blue-collar will defect big time in November. If they like what happens, they will stick around for a long time.

A dedicated Hillbuzz reader here…along with neoneocon, who is thrilled to know two of my fav blogs ‘read’ each other. When I first came upon them, due to their excellent post on GeoW and Laura I thought then how similar your story was to theirs. The fact that they are all such excellent writers makes the blog a delight to read. Thanks for recognizing them neo!

Unbeknownst? Theres no true horror revealed of late about the democrat party that any thinking person hasn’t known was incubating for years.
Maybe when democrats first suggested felons get to vote should have been their first clue?

Gotta go to bat for your core constituencies, Steve.

The leftists really started taking over the DNC in a concerted way in 2007 when the rules were changed. The last straw was the RBC meeting 2 years ago on May 31, 2008, in DC when they broke their own rules to get Obama nominated. That event is what alienated millions of Democrats who ended up changing party affiliation or stopped voting for Democrats.

Not surprisingly, in his Salon column today, far left advocate Glenn Greenwald vents about how the Lincoln nomination in Arkansas underscores how the Democratic Party remains firmly in the hands of corporatists and centrists.

You oughtta see the local shenanigans of the local Dem party here (HCDCC) – it’s incredible. Full activist takeover. Trouble is the local Rep CC is completely dead from the neck down. (CA)

“Obama didn’t just let the Democrats’ mask slip, he yanked it off completely and revealed the true horrors that may have always lurked unbeknownst to us in this party.”
And how many (formerly) clue Americans are finally beginning to figure that out?

Make that clue less. I wish there was a preview function on this blog.

When I lived in San Francisco, the “loony left”, and they don’t come much loonier, regarded then-mayor Dianne Feinstein as a right-wing corporate tool. Now they’ve pretty much taken over the Democrats in SF and elsewhere.
