  1. Which is why magicians are referred to as “honest con men”.

    they say they are going to trick you

    they say that they are only going to take a small amount of money from you (ticket) for doing so.

    and though they could go through life taking stuff from people and tricking them constantly, they only do so to entertain, and so are honest con men.

    this conflicts with the obama magicians..
    Hitler himself, in his 1925 autobiography, Mein Kampf, explained with eerie insight the fantastic power of lying:
    [I]n the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.
    Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes…

    who make other things appear and disappear.

    His primary rules were:
    never allow the public to cool off;
    never admit a fault or wrong;
    never concede that there may be some good in your enemy;
    never leave room for alternatives;
    never accept blame;
    concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong;
    people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one;
    if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.

  2. At its heart, magic, ideology, false religions, and so on.. all operate on the same principals, and fulcrums, they just work on different scales of size and organization.

    which is why they are usually only maintained by statism, who uses the energy of the people to fund their own imprisonment. neat trick, eh? (only religion can motivate longer and with the brutality as an exception rather than means)

  3. A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. – Marcus Tullius Cicero

  4. Baklava..
    they USED to be..

    but fashion got disconnected when the culture was destroyed.

    now they may mean the opposite…

    why?

    because today, women are wiling to use men to fund their lifestyles. and so when economy goes down, skirts now go up.

    in the past it was a similar reason, but from the other side of the coin..

    that in good times, more men have money and so women generally do better if they keep their “worm in the water”

    what made the difference?

    women looking for mates in the old days, would try to upscale their targets when times were good, and would settle more when times were bad.

    today women do not like men as life partners and helmeets and so on.

    so now they keep their worm in the water ALL the time.

    they have it there when single, to always be open to the elite looking to dip his wick in the harem commons. and they hope to snag one.

    AND they have their worm in the water when they are in a relationship now, looking for the BBD.. which they tell each other they are entitled to.

    so come good times or bad, they dont settle, they keep their lines in the water, ready to jump.

    and since women are all sluts and proud of it (Care go buy or see the tshirts declaring that they wear?), and ho’s, and etc… there is no social moral pressure to take your worm out of the water when there are no fish around.

    before, you were absent the voluminous bbd crowd, and modesty prevented letting it hang out all over the place in a free show on the outside chance you would collide, as in womens movies, with a Mr Big

    [while at the same time being angry at men who notice that they are that way, and who, like obama, think that they can get back their sweetness by beating up the guy that points out the truth of the situations]

  5. Artfldgr: although you are certainly describing some women—and the number of such women have most definitely grown—you are hardly describing “women.” I happen to be a woman, as are most of my friends, virtually none of whom conform to your description.

    And lest you believe that this is merely because I am, shall we say, “of a certain age,” I would add that most of the young women I know do not fit into any such category either, and I know quite a few. They are not really such exceptional exceptions.

  6. I’ve long been a big Penn & Teller fan (their magic, not their current TV show) so I’ve never really watched David Blaine. But it doesn’t matter – I just laughed and laughed at this little spoof. And the followup videos are almost as funny – it’s just the idea of these two guys being persecuted and tormented by a magician forcing them to take part in his bizarre magic tricks. And there’s no escape!
