Islam, religion of peace — 10 Comments

  1. Who does think that Islam is a religion of peace? Asides those who embrace in the theocracy’s doctrine, or those ignorant of the facts concerning its history, it is hard to find believers in the peaceful nature of muslim words or deeds. Peace and tolerance go hand in hand.

  2. 1. Good one, rickl. Direct hit.

    2. From Murray’s piece:

When I go to Muslim countries, I behave in the manner they expect. But religious toleration is a two-way street. America is not a Muslim country.

That alone will get Murray convicted of Islamophobia by a jury of the enlightened.

It doesn’t matter what Muslims believe, anymore than anybody else. But it matters how they behave. If the New York mosque is anything to go by, that test at least is being failed by some American Muslims very conspicuously indeed.

As far as they are concerned, the test is being failed by NYC. They are demonstrating to the whole world who the strong horse is. Am I correct in assuming that the mosque will be complete before the new WTC is finished?

    3. Also from Murray:

But the cowardice in identifying this and cringing stupidity of what passes for intellectuals and commentators in America, like the U.K., today is staggering.

This sentence could be expanded into books. It’s a feature of our culture, and a sign of decadence IMO, that weakness, cowardice, profligacy, etc etc are disguised by appeals to compassion, inclusiveness, etc.

  3. Islam is incompatible with Western Civilization, especially when it comes to individual freedom and the separation of church and state. In Muslim countries the government is an agent of the religion and tolerance of other religions is rare. Maybe the NYC mosque should be contingent on a Christian church in Mecca or Medina.

  4. Mr. Frank,

If I may, one small correction. Islam is not compatible with ANY other civilization. Their goal was, is and probably always will be domination, not coexistence.

My main gripe about the mushy, leftist bumper stickers with the various religious symbols spelling out “COEXIST” is that if we could only get the “C” to go along all the rest would present little problem.

  5. One thing really getting on my nerves is the idea that the people who oppose the building of the mosque have no respect for the Constitution and wish to subvert it. Perhaps I haven’t looked enough, but I’ve seen no one who opposes the construction say that the proposers have no right, or should have no right, to build it. They merely say that from a moral and culturally sensitive standpoint they shouldn’t do it.

As for the COEXIST bumper sticker, it is actually the first two letters interacting with one another that defeat the aim of the entire word.

  6. Islam is the religion of “peace” [sic].

They want a “piece” of Europe, a “piece” of Asia, a “piece” of Africa . . .
