For the earbud-challenged
Those of us with tiny ears can relate. You should hear my woeful tales of earbuds and earpieces popping out of my petite and childlike auricles.
But I’ll spare you.

Actually, poetry does not need nor want devices interposing.
on another forum i am trying to make a delay circuit so that i can delay one channel enouhg to separte the recording so tht its no longer a point source.
the problem is that if you mix left and right channels to get mono for a defectiv like me, they can perfectly cancel each other… so you can hear great tunes in which you only have vocal… or all music and almost no back up…
so the idea is to shift one channel so that its more like being in a room and the sources are separate distances apart.
in this way, a half deaf defective can hear it as he can when the its played to the room.
[note that just as usual, someone who is not handicapped spent a lot of time trying to teach me why my hearing was not good and that normal people have hearing in both ears. thanks! just what i need, lectures to the handicapped about being handicapped by an insensitive moron who other than thinking ability is not handicaped]
Fortunately, one can now buy earbuds that come complete with four sets of earbud foams including one set that is extra-small. That set is intended for children but works for this 55-year-old with tiny ear canals. Mine are made by v-Moda. They work pretty well. Not as well as the super-expensive Shures, but well enough.
Bluetooth headsets, now … that’s a challenge.

The simplest solution, especially if you use stock Apple earbuds is to get a good pair of earbud covers. Stay completely clear of the foam or silicone tip ones (they fall off almost immediately). Get the type that cover your entire earbuds and are made from the material athletes wear so they will repel dirt and moisture (two common causes of earbud failure). These covers will also ensure you can wear your earbuds all day without any discomfort, they will keep your earbuds secure, and they will extend the life of your earbuds. Best of all they work great for people with smaller ears and cost only 3 bucks. If for some reason you don’t like them, not too much of an investment. My two cents.
I don’t think I have small ears, but I find that earbuds and ear plugs of any variety that inserts into the ears are very painful. I have a pair of ear . . . phones? of some kind? They are little, but I’m not sure you’d call them buds — anyway, they sit over the ear openings and have hooks that go over my ears (suitably hidden by my hair.) They work fine, without pain.
You could make your own earbuds.

As a fellow sufferer, I can’t help but wonder how many people are put off buying the blessed things because they just don’t fit. I don’t want headphones that stand out and make me a mugging target, but surely making different sizes and styles wouldn’t be that difficult.
