More Obama ego — 12 Comments

  1. I saw that quote just this morning in a comment by bogie wheel at Belmont Club. And his rejoinder is great:

Coming from a guy whose entire career consisted of running almost nothing but his mouth, Obama’s stratospheric self-regard might seem, well, a tad misplaced. But there does seem to be one thing he is better at than anyone else on this planet. And that is holding a might-ee high opinion of Barack Obama.

  2. After HUBRIS, Comes NEMESIS…

Worked for Sophocles, works for me…

Although Aristophanes is more to the point. How about

“Obama The Organizer” = “Kleon The Tanner”?

    Works for me…

  3. There has to be a psychological pathology besides NPD that can be attributed to the Obmessiah. Or should we invent a new one, it can be called Obama’s syndrome. Symptoms: delusions of grandeur and the ability to convince others of some super qualities without objective evidence.

  4. “I am the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I’ve ever known in my life.”

OT” Btw, how can I settle up with Baklava (or was it Oblio – sorry, I’ve forgotten) with respect to my bet re Holder?

I’m ever so disappointed to have lost, since I was so looking forward to Holder finding his natural station in life (i.e., becoming a storefront lawyer for clients who inexplicably yet consistently lose their cases), but a bet is a bet…

  5. By-the-Numbers Bammy…Word reaches us that Mister Teleprompter will be lugged into the Indian Parliament for his speechifying. Caricature of thyself, His Infantile Majesty.

  6. Does everyone remember Bagdad Bob? His delusional pronouncements were very funny. “We’re winning,“ even as the U.S. Marines were knocking down his door. I always wondered what ever happened to him. Not any more. He’s in the White House. Thank you, Bagdad Bob Obama.

  7. Would that be the same New Yorker piece notorious for its cover art of Obama in terrorist garb, Michelle in an Angela Davis costume. Betcha it is.

That article scared the crap out of me. It depicted Obama slithering though his days in Chicago in the run up to his Senatorial bid.

Next to the work of Stanley Kurtz, it was the most revealing piece of journalism that I read on the man during 2008 – and it was spot on correct.

And it is why I am quite certain that if we do not impeach this rotten (expletive deleted) from office before 2012 we are all in far more trouble than we now imagine. Call me extreme if you wish, but remember that few people read the New Yorker piece, fewer the work of Stanley Kurtz, and 52% fell under Obama’s spell. I think he is capable of far worse than he has thus displayed. Remember that an animal is most dangerous when cornered.

  8. Occam’s Beard, your bet is with me, but you haven’t officially lost yet. January 1 is the magic date.

But assuming I hold on until then, I see three ways for you to pay up:

    1. Let Neo pass my name and email to you. You can email me and I will call on you when I get to your neck of the woods: you can use that $20 to buy me a drink.

    2. Use that $20 to buy yourself and a right thinking person a drink with the announcement: “This one is on my friend Oblio.”

    3. Put it in Neo’s tip jar.

Of the three, I prefer number 1.
