Pelosi won’t drop out
Okay, this is the proof of what I’ve come to suspect: that Pelosi is actually a Republican mole.
But seriously, folks, should it be a surprise to anyone that she’s digging in? The woman is tenaciousness personified, and digging in is her specialty. It’s rewarded her handsomely in the past.
On the other hand, she loves power, and she’s been stripped of some of hers. Would that not argue for a resignation?
Well, she’s been stripped of some of her power, but certainly not all. Minority Leader isn’t Speaker, but still, it’s nothing to sneeze at. Clearly, she nourishes dreams of one of the greatest comebacks in history. And she knows that she may not have a lot of keen competition for the role of Minority Leader at the present demoralized moment for the Democratic Party.
I’m not in the habit of making predictions, but I’ll make a small one here: if Pelosi wants to retain her leadership of House Democrats, she will. The Blue Dogs are too small and weak to oust her. The outcome will really depend, however, on how much silent and hidden support the Blue Dogs have among the now largely liberal remainder of Democrats in the House. My guess is that the majority of them are in Nancy’s camp, either allied with her ideologically, beholden to her in a host of other ways, or some combination of both.
I think you are right. I can’t stand the woman but she is tougher than any of the men. She’s like the anti-Palin in that regard.
Is there one Dem male that would have the guts to oppose her and stand for leadership? Don’t make me laugh.
As a substantial part of the Blue Dogs got voted out of office, after January 20 their influence will become smaller in the Democratic caucus. Until then, who knows?
There are certainly enough yellow-dog libs and progs remaining in the Democratic caucus who would support SanFranNan, a.k.a. Baltimore’s curse on the Golden State.
Go Nancy go! This is so wholesome, delicious and fulfilling that I can take a break for at least a week from my twinkie diet.
honestly I think she is afraid to go outsider her “bubble” of being a nominal “leader.” It makes her still feel “special” and not what she is – hated and disdained by the vast majority of Americans.
She cannot really conceive just how much she is hated – who could? – BUT she has some sense of this creeping into her brain. If she were to walk into a normal US shopping mall, say, she would be greeted by hoots and probably mostly ignored. She can’t *be* with normal people now – it would shatter her illusions. They’re going to have to drag her out at this point if they really want her out.
Pelosi’s leadership would be a good excuse for some blue dogs to switch parties.
Oh, please, please PLEASE don’t throw Nancy into the briar patch, Democrats!
I agree with Trimegistus – – Pelosi is and will continue to be an obvious catalyst to most Americans for all that is wrong and delusional in the far left. How could she not be that? And, I’ll add that her particular brand of tenacity deserves no respect. What a pol! So . .. PLEASE, please don’t throw her in the patch.
Once she was recognized, she would definitely not be ignored. She’d need SWAT to get her out of the mall.
