It’s not just that David Nelson has died. It’s that he was the last surviving member of the original TV family foursome, his brother Ricky having died twenty-five years ago.
And that David was already 74. The Fifties are now officially ancient history.

and the last survivor of doolittles raid on japan died too

David was always the best looking of the family. Life sure appeared simpler then.

Maybe people were just better able to sort out the really important from the junk we use to distract ourselves. Things were perhaps not easier but simpler.

Yep. The teenage suicide rate is now four times what it was in the Fifties. Lots has changed.
