Give Jonathan Martin the Spin of the Week award: again with the all-about-Palin — 16 Comments

  1. TOTAL lack of perspective.

That’s like saying – Why can’t Chris Christie move past the accusations that he didn’t manage the snow in NJ very well.

Chris Christie hammered Rudy Guliani in a pretty respectful fashion. He called it what it was.

He said he doesn’t need to drive the snowplow. He needs to show results and results were very apparent. NJ handled the snow way better than New Yorkers.

It’s be like asking – why didn’t he move on like Jerry Brown and not address the snow issue.

  2. T, the Shannon Love piece was good. One thing is certain; the rabid haters are not worried about issues.

  3. ha, too funy. I noticed it yesterday and was thinking:

Left Day 1: The right is to blame
Left Day 2: Right is as bad as us for defending itself

Its a weird argument to make (re: Day 2) but… they are. Its the spin. I guess their hope now is to tie the public’s poor opinion of them to the right so at least the public hates both. Not just on this, but in general.

  4. There is an excellent essay about the Palin blood libel by Prof. Barry Rubin at Rubin Reports. strongly recommend.

  5. The gasp heard round the world happened the first time Sarah Palin walked out on the stage and waved when picked as running mate in the VP slot. The hate and fear was immediate and has been growing like a cancer ever since.

I said it then, I’ve been saying it since. They are scared of her. All of them. She cleaned up the good ole’ boy network in her home state to, don’t you know. So it’s not just the lefties.

  6. Oops, too.(more coffee)

I am reminded of the viciousness of office politics at times, and the back stabbing that goes on there. So imagine inside the beltway, where the stakes involved for a career politician amount to millions, regardless of political party.

  7. The only way to battle against these idiots who suffer from Palin Derangement Syndrome is to call them out for what they are. The left has made it so fashionable to hate S. Palin that if you attempt to defend her you’re immediately branded a dolt. By people who often don’t know squat about much.

Just as “swiftboaters” and “birthers” are immediately marginalized by being labeled as such, we need to start labeling these idiots for being what they are. See how they like it, for once.

Believe that human caused “warming” will lead to catastrophe? You’re a “warming alarmist.” Heh, what a fool.

Scared by a housewife from Alaska? “Oh my gosh, you’re one of those PDS Sufferers. Poor you.”

Give them a taste of their own medicine. Their world is upside down.

  8. Thanks, neo. Apparently JM is another voice in the echo chamber that is left-media. I guess a better question is ‘why JM?’ I don’t see anything in him that will carry him beyond the day when his attraction to the left fails. Others at least have substance.

  9. Palin is Still the Israel of American Politics

And how true it is! This “all-about-Palin” yang reminds me of the frequent exchange between Israel supporters and detractors:

Marxist Traitor: “Israel is starving Palestinian children! Israel is a danger to world peace! Israel is a holdout of colonialism! Israel is the reason why there is no democracy in the Middle East! Israel is the…”

Zionist Patriot: “All these accusations are false and constitute a blood libel on Israel! Put up or shut up!”

Marxist Traitor: “Stop making this all about Israel! There are other things in the world outside your obsession!”

On the other hand, the Deflection Gambit is just as common:

Marxist Traitor: “Israel obstructs free speech in the name of ‘fighting terrorism’!”

Zionist Patriot: “Look at Burma or North Korea and you’ll see what obstruction of free speech really is.”

Marxist Traitor: “Stop deflecting! This is off-topic! We’re talking about Israel now!”

Which is mirrored in the Left/Right spat in American politics:

DemoCommie: “Loughner was motivated by right-wing rhetoric!”

Tea Partier: “He wasn’t, and besides, you lefties shouldn’t be throwing stones in your glass house. Does ‘If they bring a gun, we bring a knife’ ring a bell?”

DemoCommie: “Stop deflecting! We’re talking about right-wing incitement now!”

Headsiwin, tailsyoulose. And so it’ll stay until the media outlets and education centers are wrested from Marxist control. You shape the discourse, you hold de-facto rule even when your party’s not in formal power.
