Mr. Frank: well, how long were they supposed to keep the money? The baby had been gone for decades. Also, the baby was raised by the woman who kidnapped her–probably not the best mother around. According to reports, it was very rough.

That was my point. The girl was raised poor and upon learning about her real mother homed in on money.

Tom–I don’t think that’s an accurate, or appropriate, comment. Stupidity and greed have no race, gender, or creed.

Children who are kidnapped and raised away from their biological parents often exhibit sociopathic behavior throughout their lives, or so I’ve heard. There’s always a chance of a miraculous exception to that rule, but this wasn’t one of them.

Well, I could’ve written “Trailer park trash” or other, more, uh, tasteful pejoratives. Not accurate or appropriate? What is the point of the story, if not to point out greed and phoniness?
