We had to pass the health care bill to find out what’s in it — 7 Comments

  1. That’s not a “glitch”, it’s a feature. Wasn’t it Krugman fairly recently arguing that Medicare should be more widely used?

    Bleh.

  2. It is important to differentiate between Medicare (for elderly) and Medicaid (for the poor). The reimbursement rate for Medicaid is so low that many doctors do not accept patients under the program. Dumping millions of middle class people into the Medicaid program would make it even more difficult for the poor to find a doctor.

  3. This law is starting to look like Mao’s steel making project.

Obama, what were you thinking? or more to the point, were you thinking?

  4. I should have pointed out that problems caused by greatly expanding Medicaid are a feature, not a bug. From the view of Obama, the objective is to crash the system (Cloward-Piven). When things get really bad, the federal government will ride to the rescue with a single payer system. Doctors will work for the state and will be told who and how to treat.

  5. Mr. Frank @ 1:41 pm

I take care of my elderly mother who has Alzheimer’s. From personal experience, many doctors don’t take Medicare either.

  6. On the nose, Mr. Frank! Now, let’s all join in a chorus of “In the East, the sun is rising!”
