What a difference… — 7 Comments

  1. Some folks are going to jump on Obama’s “hypocrisy”. But a look at the vote on both sides, then and now, is one mighty fine example of why the Tea Party was born: more and more people are seeing we can’t get no satisfaction from either major political party.

  2. I blame Bush. 5 Trillion in 8 years is WHY Obama HAD to add 5 trillion more in 3 years. Doncha see?

  3. Bush wanted to spend that money on military spending, mostly, with some domestic issues he campaigned on, which got hijacked by Ted Kennedy and the rest of the Democrat ilk. The Democrats in 2006 also jacked up the budget to pay for their vote buying, and Bush didn’t want to veto it probably because Democrats were holding the Iraq war or something over him.

1 trillion in military spending does a lot more good than 1 trillion spent buying Democrat votes in urban cities, unions, and the lawsuit lobbies.

  4. I ask, if Bush’s terrible fiscal profligacy was as bad as the dems claim, then why do they want to do much, much more of the same?

  5. I can’t even pretend to be shocked any more.
The Democrats’ opinions and votes are ALWAYS based on the current situation. They have no principles except increasing their power and destroying their enemies.

  6. Ymarsakar,
I too have often wondered whether some of Bush’s decisions were made to keep libs somewhat on board in the war on terror. I’m pretty sure he recognized their treachery but wanted to deny them any opportunity to turn up the sound any further on security issues.

As for the debt/spending issue, the Dems are like kids demanding a bigger allowance so they can buy more obesity-causing junk foods. I mean , who can argue against our pressing need for more diversity manuals for schools and textbooks praising the role of transexuals in our history. Dems will say or do anything to advance their pet goals. Since they can’t add and subtract, they will continue to mis-understand our real problems and avoid setting any priories.

  7. Beyond contraction and the pain associated with contraction, there is no solution. Alas, we (baby boomers) are not our parents generation, we are unwilling to take the pain. We refuse to accept the consequences of our actions/inactions. Welcome to QE3, 4, 5, and then implosion.
