Obama and executive power: it goes without saying… — 20 Comments

  1. He has not worked with anyone Republican or Democrat in Congress so why start now? He seemed to only work with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

Speaking of Reid, somewhere there are huge payments to be made to Reid in Nevada for doing all this for Obama. He is carefully hording his chits and will call them in soon.

  2. Too bad the huxleys had us all reasonable and willing to try the guy with bad friends, fake papers, legally locked up grades, and a history with communist revolutions by family members.

now there is nothing we can do..

if anyone puts up a scenario as to what can be done, i will show you its checkmate in 10 moves, no matter what is done…

the only thing that would lead to it NOT being so, would be the person who is to do what they have to do, wont do it. and for some reason, doesn’t.

but right now. its all sewn up in the sack and a done deal… the question is now messy it will be, not whether it will be.

if working against the constitution is not treason, then what is? (and i am talking the actual legal definition of treason, not everyone belief of what it is)

you would think that a side that would want to prevent such and wasn’t in with such, would work to remove such… but no.. and thats also an indication

the only thing they are trying to avoid is the harm and such that comes when they have to use force, and the mess and such it makes and so forth…

    but this is a dictator..
and this dictator has mini dictators called Czars who are also unconstitutional.. and he is ruling by decree, as in kings writ…

the funny part is how they got everyoen sillied up…

the symbol does not define the thing (cargo cult), the thing is defined by itself, how it acts, and so on… and the symbol is either hung on it as accurate, or not…

    he is a dictator…
and the only thing that you guys are waitinfg for is for him to behave in a way that YOU think would make it so… but that is not a definitive thing… so it doesnt have to happen.

ie. if they dont give you the signs you want and believe are needed, then you can be converted to a dicatatorship, not realize it, and not ‘get it’, because you havent seen the (non) definitive signs.

ie.. you think its not done yet, but its already done… they dont start showing those things until AFTER its done, not before… or in the lead up… about all you get in the lead up is the dropped masks, which we have seen many

but now, they just redefined dictatorship in the same article as: unilateralist strategy

didnt hitler, stalin, mao, castro, che, pinnochet, napoleon, tiberius, ceaser…
    all have unilateralist strategies?

in fact. the term that they are using but avoiding in the article is “Sovereign presidency”… it goes with sovereign democracy…

and the idea here is that things will change before the departments that would decide on them can decide.

for isntance… if there is an executive order to dissolve the supreme court… who wins?

you may want to say the supreme court.. but remember. you cant bring it to the court unles syou have been harmed by it…

and he court cant be harmed by it unless it actually happens… ie, if they are not dissolved then the power doesnt exist, they are not harmed by it, and cant adjudicate.

if they are dissolved, then the power does exist, the question exists, they are harmed by it and they can present it. but there is no place to bring it.

the congress cant stop it… the executive powers already claim to be greater than congress…

and he has showed. that if you agree with the outcomes, then we can continue the game of pretend powers… but if not, he will now show that this is how its been, and that the congress, had no more power than it would have under stalin.

we are starting to wake up to whats DONE already, while waiting for it to start so we can prevent it.

    THATS how they do it…
and no one wanted to learn and see before that state was reached…

now there is nothing to do…
as he can negate that which would negate him

the time to act was the election…
and even then it wouldnt have been as the alternative was no alternative..

in communism such a leadership is like the commitee deciding who will stand up front and rule as a figurehead… thats a collective…

so it doesnt matter which leader you get, once the whole is compromised its onlyfor public concumption, otherwise the horses wont work and they will have to decide to do something else.

  3. Apres Moi, le Deluge… is what obama thinks
along with.. Le state ce Moi..

and when you rule, i scream for more rights, as that is your way, but when i rule, i take away all your rights, because that is my way..

  4. And further along in the NYT article:

“I refuse to take ‘no’ for an answer,” Mr. Obama declared, beneath a “We Can’t Wait” banner. “When Congress refuses to act and – as a result – hurts our economy and puts people at risk, I have an obligation as president to do what I can without them.”

With this rationale, what won’t he do?

  5. Well… if your going to include Oliver..

just think of him as a liberal twit…
    and me, i am the Dodger… 🙂

Oliver: Dodger, it’s not a game anymore.

The Artful Dodger: [sadly] It never was a game, mate. You just thought it was.

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Oliver: If you’re good, good things will happen to you.
The Artful Dodger: [sarcastic] Where’d you learn that, the workhouse?

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Dodger: [sings] Once a villain, you’re a villain to the end!

The Distinction between the artful Dodger and the Genuine Radical dissenter is stressed again and again in this book, with every bit of intensity i can command, because the freedom of all Americans and the purity of our anticommunist sacrifice depends on this distinction.

    and the next paragraph

the investigations of communist espionage and fellow traveler infiltration must continue, les the caterpillar be destroyed from within by the egg the wasp concealed in it.

He personally held at bay all possibilities of self-importance, pomposity, mysticism, and cant which might have otherwise interfered with the very direct and personal relation he had to his paintings and their content.

He kept himself from being publicly engulfed by his own meaning and the meanings he so well intuited in the life around him.

He did not tame his work, but he thus tamed the role which he suspected so correctly society would, if allowed, impose upon him as it had on the unsuspected Pollock.

One of the lessons of our own society, often as opposed to that of Europe in the very recent past, is that for the artist to keep working after initial recognition he must adopt the cleverest devices of Dickens’s Artful Dodger.

Kline worked publicly to retain his studio privacy. No matter how helplessly he and those around him dissolved in laughter at one of his fantastic anecdotes, underlying it was a nostalgia and longing which reminded one of the early “idealistic” anarchists, and a melancholy recognition of mutability, self-irony singling out the irony of the specific tale.

  6. Back when the Left said Bush was trying to get too much Executive power, all the people in the know knew that it was only ever true of the Left.

  7. Ymarsakar: plus, government power held by the left is good, government power held by the right is bad. It’s all in the good intentions, you know.

  8. What’s the list of people Obama will pardon on his way out the door gonna look like? And will there be anything left in the whitehouse that isn’t nailed down after his and Michelle’s departure? Inquiring minds want to know.

  9. From the NYT article that Neo provided:

“For their part, Republicans appear to have largely acquiesced. Mr. Grassley said in an interview that his colleagues were reluctant to block even more bills and nominations in response to Mr. Obama’s “chutzpah,” lest they play into his effort to portray them as making Congress dysfunctional.”

It’s all about ‘seeming’, not ‘being’, going along to get along. And my (R) congresscritter is one of them. I’ll give you (R): Ahrrrh!

  10. In 2010 the pendulum started to swing back, that momentum remains. I think the tea party people are still engaged. I think a majority of ‘independents’ have had their eyes opened by the last 3+ years of the reign of Obama. I think many on the left are demoralized. They are the reckless wild card known as the 99%. They will bring havoc and mayhem to the streets as the year progresses and this will not benefit the evil BHO-Reid-Pelosi-MSM axis. 😉

IMO, despite the advantages that flow to the incumbent and the propaganda efforts of the MSM, this race is Romney’s to lose. Additionally, the republicans will hold the house and perhaps take a slim majority in the senate. Plus, I suspect there are 5 members of SCOTUS who are a bit peeved with supreme leader wannabe.

As far as executive orders are concerned, I fully agree that BHO salivates at the thought of being the American Fidel if for no other reason that he would finally have the power to tell Michelle that he’s going to eat what he damn well pleases. But seriously, if you go back from Bush II to Wilson, there have been many potentially dangerous executive orders. The executive has, ever since Lincoln, assumed more and more power, and congress has allowed this to occur. Wilson and FDR were just as power hungry as BHO. LBJ too.

It ain’t over until its over and the final out is not in sight. BTW, Romney in the Oval Office and republicans in charge of both houses will not bring about a return to sanity; but it will be a start.

  11. “I refuse to take ‘no’ for an answer,” Mr. Obama declared, beneath a “We Can’t Wait” banner. “When Congress refuses to act and – as a result – hurts our economy and puts people at risk, I have an obligation as president to do what I can without them.”

And what Obama has done for the economy is the equivalent of a three year old’s taking apart and reassembling a swiss watch.

  12. Artfldger makes a good point especially in refering to people waiting for something overtly dictatorial happening. It’s already happened.

But I’m not convinced there is still no reform possible.

  13. Curtis, so you imagine a great awakening…
will it include peasants with pitch forks storming frankenfurters castle? or will it just be kool aid and cookies?

do you really think that by november, the people are not going to allow their voting to be gamed by lack of id… and so on?

how about the new executive order adjustment which allows him to take power wiether there is a crisis or not?

a case of, if i am winning hte election..
i will go along with it for legitimacy
    if i am losing…

China is helping north korea who now is claiming to turn seoul korea to a pile of ashes…

    OR

    iran…

    OR
domestic riots due to not raising welfare payments..

    OR
rioits due to mobs of angry blacks putting whites in hospital (a few more today… and saying thats for trayvon… collectiive justice)

maybe homeland security didnt buy the 450 million hollow point rounds for whats coming, they are just target practicing…

or the MRE (meals ready to eat) havent been purchased by the millions starting a few years back…

or the 64 domestic drone sites..

did you forget the military paper on “civilian inmate labor camps”? us ex soviets refer to them as gulags.. the chinese as re-education camps.. the US as internment camps, but now they are civilian inmate labor camps.

here, you can read it from the army
    http://armypubs.army.mil/epubs/pdf/R210_35.PDF

maybe those fema camps are real.. and those coffin casings are coffin casings..

given the way the media reports and has shilled for such people, i cant determine whether such camps are real or not… tin hatters dont help…

and i guess you forgot that the US government hired Primakov and Wolfe to work on the issue of internal passports…

    Primakovs full name?
    KGB General Yevgeni Primakov

    and wolfs full name?
    Stasi chief Markus Wolfe

    and THAT was by bush…

so perhaps, one side is just playing bad cop to the other sides good cop??

i am curious how reform is possible when the people required to act are educated that the soviet union was a good thing, that people were exiled not murdered, and so on?

whose going to teach them? the socialist controlled teachers union members? the feminists who openly said its communist government they have worked for!!!!!!!!! how about the black national socialists (black nazi party basically)? will they stop the mobs from jumping whites randomly for Obamas Collective Justice?

and the thing that most are not going to get… the idea is not to convert the US into a amoral state with such power… duh… its to move it to such a state, so that its power can be transfered due to external actions…

    you tell me..
in the case of bad things, and no one advising obama what to do…

will he just sign a treaty giving up the US?

that due to financial reasons, educational reasons, immigration reasons, lack of military equipment reasons, and all that…

that he cede america to the other side?

and may i ask what power is there to stop him?

  14. ATK Secures .40 Caliber Ammunition Contract with Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (DHS, ICE)

    http://www.marketwatch.com/story/atk-secures-40-caliber-ammunition-contract-with-department-of-homeland-security-us-immigration-and-customs-enforcement-dhs-ice-2012-03-12?reflink=MW_news_stmp

ATK announced that it is being awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) agreement from the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (DHS, ICE) for .40 caliber ammunition. This contract features a base of 12 months, includes four option years, and will have a maximum volume of 450 million rounds.

In 2009, it signed a contract with Winchester for the procurement of 200 million hollow points.

Terror threats rising as FEMA orders $1 Billion in dehydrated food
    http://www.beaufortobserver.net/1FeedbackAllbody.lasso?-token.specificitem=21535.112112

One of the nation’s largest suppliers of dehydrated food has cut loose 99% of their dealers and distributors. And it’s not because of the poor economy. It’s because this particular industry leader can no longer supply their regular distribution channels. Why not? Because they’re using every bit of manufacturing capacity they have to fulfill massive new government contracts. Look, the government has always been a customer of the industry to some extent. But according to our sources, this latest development doesn’t represent simply a change of vendor on the government’s part. It’s a whole new magnitude of business.

The RFP called for a 10-day supply of meals – for 14 million people. That’s 420 million meals. Typically, FEMA maintains a stockpile of about 6 million meals. Why the sudden need to increase the stockpile by 420 million more?

note that a lot of this was being prepared and such before obama was elected. and then, huxleys were eager to come up with tons of reasons why each of these things were ok, and reasonable… (and refuse as always to look at more than one thing together)

so is it reasonable that homeland security is stockpiling millions of rounds of ammunition?

is it reasoanble that years ago they worked on how to operate and station civilian inmate labor camps?

is it reasonable that they are fomenting random race attacks

Which technically makes Charles Manson and the Manson Family prescient… but is also why the weather underground and the black national socialists tried to rob a brinks truck… to start race war… and that was for the purpose of using such chaos to change the state (to a dictatorship of the proletariat)

you tell me if the cover story is a cover story or its something different…

the cover story is that all these purchases of guns, ammunition, food, body bags, coffin casings, and such is in case there is a disaster on the new Madrid fault..

and FEMA was not created by congress. it was created by Executive orders by presidents…

now its interesting to note that MOST of the tin hat work was done by people who wanted to smear bush with these facts…

they did not want to put such facts together going back to the 70s… ie… spanning presidencies post 68…

the problem as always is dual use, and ambiguity… which i have pointed out how you hide such… you cloak them in ambiguity…

but i am the kind of person who prefers that the questions never come up… that even the fact that such situations are so many and ambiguous is in itself troubling. as how can so many be that way without intent?

all the reasonable points are almost provided to give plausible deniability to each thing. oh. its not for citizen unrest and racial riots… its for an earthquake (just in case)…

Bankrupt sovereign states most commonly use the currency printing press as a solution to not having enough money to cover obligations. The alternative here would be for the U.S. eventually to renege on its existing debt and obligations, a solution for modern sovereign states rarely seen outside of governments overthrown in revolution, and a solution with no happier ending than simply printing the needed money.

we have more debt than we can pay..
and that leads to war when you try to stiff countries who invested in you and your leaders.

whether we elect obama or not, the future has few options for fixing it, unless you think the OWS kids will realize that sitting there is resources that teamed up could make a company and employ them?

they are talking 100% employment… and they dont understand what that means… you dont work, you dont eat… what capitalists and bleeding hearts allow, socialists actually dont.

and 100% employment is what would lead to camps wiithout the wacky riots or so forth.

and the idea of it is not so alien given Van Jones, an ex CZAR, talked about needing to connect manufacturing and the gulag system as a means of production to meet debts..

  15. Remember when Obama campaigned that he would reign in executive power? Fun times.

Suggested alternative heading: How Obama Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Executive Power

  16. Obama is easy to read in that he is clearly a fascist at heart. What happens when, in Obama’s second term, he decides that Honduras really deserves a leftist dictator as opposed to democratic government and commences some sort of military action without the consent of Congress? He tested the waters in Libya and got away with it. Or decides to interfere with Israeli action against Iran because his negotiations are so successful? Will Congress be able to do anything?

We can be sure that he is thinking of ways to undermine congressional authority and probably, in some form, extending his rule after a second term.

  17. What does Conservatism offer?

certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness
    — The Declaration of Independence

It offers no guarantees, not even a promise of instant gratification. It does not afford special status based on race, gender, or any other feature. It offers only limited appeal to individuals without integrity and demands a certain trust from others who are momentarily or permanently vulnerable. This is classical liberalism and with the restrictions imposed by Judeo-Christian temperance it becomes even less desirable.

We have to acknowledge that a large minority and perhaps a progressive majority simply maintains a different perspective of reality than we do. There are certain criteria by which America can be considered exceptional; but, our status is not inevitable, and is increasingly threatened through subversion from within.

It is worth distinguishing between fundamental corruption (i.e. head and tail consuming the body) and exceptional corruption as the cause of our malaise. I tend to think it is the former, but it may, in fact, have been motivated by the latter. It’s a paradox which needs to be resolved.
