It’s not exactly PT-109… — 8 Comments

  1. Re PT-109: JFK was criticized as losing his PT boat due to reckless incompetence. A family trait?

  2. Can someone tell me what the music is on the doggie video? The German copyright screen won’t let it play. (It also blocked out The Fantastics songs. )

  3. Of course, there’s the obligatory story that Obama’s dog meal may have been a/another lie. Breitbart published “Indonesian Source: Obama Would Have to Hunt for Dog Meat in Jakarta” about eight days ago saying that after a search of Indonesian cookbooks, there was no mention of dog recipes and in Jakarta eating dog is unacceptable as well it should be in a Muslim community.

  4. Gregory (Scotland Yard detective): “Is there any other point to which you would wish to draw my attention?”
Holmes: “To the curious incident of the dog in the wok.”
Gregory: “The dog did nothing in the wok.”
Holmes: “That was the curious incident.”

  5. What a hilarious video.

The music is “In The Arms Of An Angel” performed by Sarah Mclachlan.

  6. The Romney family rescue sounds so, well, typically American. My in laws had a place on a lake in Arkansas where the spent most weekends. I saw just such a rescue performed there by our nephews and nieces. There were a few others that I heard about. You live on a lake, someone gets in trouble, you do your best to render assistance.

Romney happened to be in the right place at the right time – twice, according to the article. Hero? Nope. Good samaritan? Yes. He is a doer and has, as Sara Palin is wont to say, a serving heart. My kind of guy.

  7. If I have it right, the PT-109 was not a glorious thing, save in the eyes of ‘news rebundlers’, good only for useful idiots… and the ignorant. If Kennedy hadn’t had the connections and money he had, he would have been given a court martial, one he would have lost, for the thing. And a dishonorable discharge.

So, saving a dog is… well, much better. Unless you don’t like dogs… or it was supposed to be your dinner. heh
