…that Dr. Sanity is back blogging. You may remember her from the old “Sanity Squad” podcasts.
“Podcast”—that has a retro feel, doesn’t it?

I heard this point from my hairdresser. It seems based on the Lasser curve, but is simply put and it brings “the math” into sharp perspective:
***If you like taxes and you say the government can tax more, and then more and more and more, and taxes rise from 50% to 60% to 75% to 90%, eventually you get to taxing 100% and we are done. CAN’T GO any higher.
***If you foster free enterprise, then people make more money and the government’s total take is higher. Then you foster free enterprise even more and there is more growth and the government’s take becomes even higher, and you foster it more and more . . . you can KEEP GOING. This path is UNLIMITED.
Name for this theory? Oh, yeah: I can see it from here. It’s called “common sense.”

M of Hollywood, I think you mean the Laffer curve. Named after Art Laffer, the supply side economist. Often derided as “voodoo economics,” it seems to work just as he pointed out, but there is no EQUALITY of OUTCOMES. Thus, as far as the progs are concerned, it is cruel, mean, immoral, evil, and just wrong.

The Sanity Squad was one of my first regular stops in the blogosphere. I was a regular reader and commenter at Shrinkwrapped. Followed his link to the Sanity Squad. Back in the day, Dr. Sanity, Shrinkwrapped, Siggy, and you became the mainstays of my blog reading.
Glad to have Dr. Sanity back, even if only part time. Her latest post on Islamophobia is the kind of common sense therapy we all need. It helps us realize that it is not a phobia, but a healthy fear of a very real threat.

Laffing at myself. Yes yes Laffer.
And yes it is derided as “voodoo.”
That is why the hairdresser analysis smacked me as powerful: Laffer-ism is not voodoo at all. It is the essence of “sustainability” for it can go on and on. The tax-tax-tax route stops when you get to 100.

I used to be a Dr. Sanity devotee also…glad she’s back.
Watched a video in one of her recent postings in which a guy (can’t remember his name and don’t wanna lose my place here to go look) basically said: “Screw you, Muslims…we dont like your religion and if you don’t like it you can lump it”.
I loved that…guess I’m just not destined to be PC.

Neo: slightly OT but, since you’ve mentionined another blogger … I think getting a post/discussion going on Ann Althouse’s meltdown over the Obamaphone lady video would be very interesting. I’d like to see what your regular commenters think.

Thanks for the good news about Dr.Sanity, N-Neocon! She is NEEDED. Her depth and steadiness at this bats**t crazy time are reassuring. Plus, the regular addressing of rampant malignant narcissism among our ‘elites’ is welcome wake-up call.

Oh good. I’ll add her blog to my Google Reader list having space after removing the Althouse blog.

Yay. Thanks for the Heads Up.

Dr.Sanity Alert!!
Her new post,”The Vindictive Truth”, is breathtaking. As a 4+decade student of the evils brought to humans by the Left, I highly recommend it for all regulars here.
