Petraeus to testify tomorrow…

behind closed doors.

How nice for us all.

This whole thing is like being in a centrifuge: spin, spin, spin. The only thing I’m pretty sure of is hat Susan Rice was sent to the TV shows because they could play the gender/race card if it came out that she was lying.

  2. kaba Says:

When no one in the upper echelons of the military, intelligence, or the State Dept. resigned in protest about Benghazi I was disappointed. But it is symptomatic of just how corrupt our institutions have become.

Petraeus didn’t reach his recent high positions by being a rebel or independent actor. He is very much a product of the system that produced him. I expect no dramatic revelations from him. He will, as he already has, sing from the organization song book.

If he doesn’t play ball, how will he get the cozy defense contracting consulting gig afterwards?

  4. Sam L. Says:

I do hope the Repubs hang together to get the truth, and hang it on The won where it belongs.

  5. parker Says:

I agree Sam L, the republicans must hang tough and relentlessly pursue the truth of what BHO knew, when he knew it, and what he did in response to the attack on the consulate. Based upon what we know so far, which is very little, it definitely appears that BHO failed to use all assets available and allowed 4 dead in Benghazi for political reasons. This is the most serious issue surrounding a president in the history of the republic. If BHO & the MSM are allowed to sweep this under the rug the republic is dead. If the republic is dead, we will have civil war 2.

Can’t believe McCain missed the Libya briefing.

    kaba…

They didn’t resign — because there is a general purge going on.

    (Admirals, too)

The purge within the CIA is going to be scarcely reported — because the players are already ‘blacked out.’

Whereas, the purge of the top brass is already astonishing.

It includes most of the players involved — even at the edges — with Benghazigate.

    That’s a ‘tell.’

    Wake up.

Because of its intelligence classification – -the players are unable to talk without facing prison and or loss of their pensions — even should they resign in protest.

So, resigning, per se, is entirely futile. No ‘message’ to the American people can be sent that way.

BTW, resigning in protest is a BRITISH cultural norm — not an American one. Let’s not go into why and how that is so. Just note that it IS SO.

  8. adagny Says:

There are true “soldier generals”, and then there are “politician generals”, and tomorrow we find out which Patraeus is.

My hope is that he throws all caution to the wind and spills the whole truth. Yes, he will be thrown to the wolves, but at least he can live the rest of his life with some trace of dignity.
