A modest vacation

Seven million? Chump change.

  1. Artfldgr Says:

Why and how can he do this???

Easy. He is a figurehead. Ie. The “face”. The puppet..
He knows it. And he know that as a face he only has to show for surface appearances.

The ordering of law being signed w auotopen makes it even easier for this process. It also makes possible continuance by others in certain events. (His recent signing statement kind of shows he lost the plot and is trying to act.

He has little substance and so does not knew how to act to pull it off. Such works best when there is less scrutiny.

Having little need to be around and narcissistic impatient, the facade cant be properly maintained (another reason is lack of respect for those he is duping)

    The council runs things
And that is what a soviet is
Making them the supreme council or supreme soviet to which Obama is a convenient focal point and ultimate blame carrier….

I explaind once about putting incompetencd in place to build a power base of fear control, and find it a waste to repeat.

Lets just say that he is helpless without them and so plays his part grudgingly. And they are secure their foil serves its purpose for them.

  2. Mr. Frank Says:

Among the poor and blacks this sort of thing is a plus. It is seen as sticking it to the man.

  3. Rose Says:

I so completely agree, artfldgr, and I am completely baffled as to how people do not SEE it!

    What hope is there?

  4. Roman Says:

Only seven million, it’s only money, and not his.

  5. Papa Dan Says:

I’ve come to believe with Obama it’s all about payback and Americas deserved comeuppance. He is not so removed from the Rev. Wright as he once claimed. Elections over now – no need to pretend anymore. He will rub Americas face in it for the next four years.

I refuse to listen to him anymore. Peace of mind is too precious to me.

  6. Occam's Beard Says:

Among the poor and blacks this sort of thing is a plus. It is seen as sticking it to the man.

Anyone who thinks this is great is a loser.

  7. Occam's Beard Says:

He is a figurehead. Ie. The “face”. The puppet..

Yep. I call him the “spokesmodel” for Marxism.

  8. Baklava Says:

    Could feed 1.4 million people $5 meals…

    Could feed 700,000 people $10 meals…

    Could feed 70,000 people $100 meals…

Could give a life to 7 babies born early…

  9. Steve D Says:

‘Among the poor and blacks this sort of thing is a plus. It is seen as sticking it to the man.’

He is ‘the man’. I mean, how much more ‘the man’ can you be than the president?

  10. Artfldgr Says:

With Benghazi still burning in the rear-view mirror of its wobbly foreign policy, the Obama administration is set to ship the Islamic Brotherhood government of Egypt 10 F16 fighter jets and 200 Abrams tanks and charge it to U.S. taxpayers… …the Islamic Brotherhood is not a U.S. ally. Nevertheless, the Obama administration is prepared to arm them to the teeth with cutting-edge tanks and planes

  11. artfldgr Says:

7 million doesn’t even begin to rise to Chump Change — that’s nothing.

  12. Lizzy Says:

So many things that the Obama’s do are over the top – the 52 (!) Christmas trees, the fancy state dinners (using non-WH party planners), the posh vacations. A recent Steyn column detailed how the Obamas spend much more that the British royal family.
This is what happens when you have a shameless president and an adoring press.

  13. rickl Says:

It’s good to be the king.

  14. parker Says:

DC spends 7 million in an hour so the messiah’s trip is less than peanuts when DC is allowed to spend 3.5 trillion a year. I agree with artfldgr’s take on BHO’s real role. He is the cool, tingle up the leg facade. Sending foot in mouth Joe to ‘negotiate’ was a real tell.

  15. Sam L. Says:

Chump change–And WE are the chumps.

  16. RandomThoughts Says:

I have always believed Obama sought the presidency simply for the lavish perks it offers. He and Michelle are all about living large on other people’s money.

Once he’s out of office, he’ll travel the world as a highly paid public speaker, and spend the rest of his adult life living in the style to which he has become accustomed.

  17. Ed Bonderenka Says:

    Hope and Chump Change.

  18. southpaw Says:

Obama is a revolting piece of garbage. There are no words to describe his sense of entitlement, his lack of humility, or the lack of outrage that people feel who claim to be interested in the plight of the unemployed, the poor, or the less fortunate. It’s disgusting to watch him preen and wave to his adoring masses, and utterly disheartening to see the media cover him as if he were a man of the people. I cannot stand the sight of him.

  19. M J R Says:

    I Samuel 8:10-19 (KJV)

10 And Samuel told all the words of the Lord unto the people that asked of him a king.

11 And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots.

12 And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.

13 And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers.

14 And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants.

15 And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants.

16 And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work.

17 He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.

18 And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the Lord will not hear you in that day.

    19 Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;

  20. DaveindeSwamp Says:

Worse than Obama are the garbage bags who voted for him. Especially the educated, thoughtful and intelligent manure sacks . I despise them, even more than their Lord and Master

  21. parker Says:

Ils sont les ignorants qui vivent pour consommer ce qu’ils ne peuvent pas produire.

They are the ignorants ones who live to consume what they can not produce. In other words, and in english, they are the parasites.

  22. beverly Says:

Ah, yes. Hussein Obama is the grotesque Chicken that has come home to rooooost on our heads.

Man, he really hates our guts, doesn’t he?

  23. beverly Says:

So who will write our modern “Modest Proposal”? shall we throw him and the missus into a kettle, boil them up, and serve them?

  24. Christopher Says:

‘Among the poor and blacks this sort of thing is a plus. It is seen as sticking it to the man.’

He is ‘the man’. I mean, how much more ‘the man’ can you be than the president?

Perhaps ‘sticking it to whitey,’ would be more appropriate. We are inveterate racists, after all.

  25. southpaw Says:

Maybe our fellow Americans do wish for a king. Rudyard Kipling’s “The Man Who Would be King” had a tragic ending; when the people finally realized their God bled, they cut off his head. We should be so lucky.
After all is said and done, it’s hard to imagine this smug, arrogant man NOT making a fatal error that eventually exposes him for the incredible fraud that he is. Like the politician in the “Dead Zone” who holds up a baby to shield himself from the assasin. Nothing so dramatic, but something equally self-centered and deeply instintive.

  26. southernjames Says:

On a site where there a lefties as well as righties, the comments you see from them are are typical whenever this sort of thing is mentioned. Instead of yes this is bad — it is always “Bush was just as bad or worse and nobody complained then”

“Why didn’t you complain about all of Bushes trips to Crawford, or all the weekends spent at Camp David.”

    Conveniently ignoring the fact that:

    1. They DID bitch and complain incessantly. But now that it is their Messiah, its all okay.
    2. Crawford was Bush’s home. Obama is not flying back to a townhouse in Chicago — it is Ha-frickin Waii. Twice — over and back in 3 weeks.
    3. Bush stayed in DC over Christmas so that his security and staff could have Christmas at home with their families. Obama is an inconsiderate a-hole, who obviously couldn’t care less about that.
    4. Unemployment wasn’t 8% and the economy in a depression during most of Bush’s presidency.

But there is absolutely no point in even responding to the lefties.

  27. Artfldgr Says:

Its up to 20 million now

  28. J.J. formerly Jimmy J. Says:

Obama’s actions reflect those of Third World tyrants who live high on the hog while their followers hope that some of the gravy will pass on through to them. Those who compare his royal flings to Bush’s so-called excesses have no sense of proportion.

I’ve known a couple men like that who worked for the taxpayers. They deemed it their just dues to go first class on the taxpayer’s dime. Just because. “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.”

Just as an aside: Give me the $7 mil and I’ll give half to a charity of my choice and live quite nicely in Hawaii permanently, not for just a few weeks.

About Me

Previously a lifelong Democrat, born in New York and living in New England, surrounded by liberals on all sides, I've found myself slowly but surely leaving the fold and becoming that dread thing: a neocon.
