And what’s this “reality” of which we speak?
It appears to be the “reality” that he has no intention of acting on those “lofty ideals” right now because not everybody agrees with him.
I guess today isn’t the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal…
Maybe tomorrow.

Wait till he finds out that the Mafia is milking the EU solar and wind programs (WaPo report). Then he will work on how he can milk the Mafia.

The Baraka has no use for actual lofty ideals and surely thinks them moot. That the remaking of the country should entail Gnostic urges antithetical to nature, reality, traditions, understandings, and new forms over old functions, and for these urges to have become the default ideals, makes the case that we have finished with slippery slope and are now hurtling down the chasm. And the government would warn us to wear a helmet – or else.

Reality???? The messiah doesn’t need no stinking reality, he is above reality. Reality is a vast rightwing conspiracy to put people of color in chains and take away their food stamps and cell phones. Joe Biden said so: http://tinyurl.com/af8db2g

Lofty: Unconnected with gravity, or gravitas. (Colloquially, a lie.)

It was funny, and perplexing, to see how all the news folk got caught up in the pomp and circumstance of the inauguration earlier this week. Everyone was talking about Obama’s bold second term agenda and how he wants to “destroy the Republican party” (whatever that means).
It should have been clear to everyone by now that Obama has no agenda beyond saying things to ingratiate himself to the progressive base and he never has. On some level, I’m sure even Obama understands he’s not serious. I’m glad we’re finally coming back to reality.
