All hail Obama — 40 Comments

  1. According to Chris Matthews, some of Obama’s speeches are right up there with the Gettysburg Address. I really don’t see how clearly bright people can not see through the guy.

  2. Mr. Frank,

Is Matthews really intelligent or does he know the right buzzwords?

  3. Eric: “2+2=5”

Here’s how an email correspondent put that just the other day:

The 5-Step Process Of How Libs Absorb Truth:

    Step 1: Rejection

    Truth claim: 2 + 2 = 4.

Lib Reaction: “Wrong!! That’s racism!! Koch brothers propaganda!! Cato Institute spew!!!”

    Step 2: Anger (with strawman)

    Truth claim again: 2 + 2 = 4.

Lib Reaction: “You “Repukes” are heartless!! Just let poor people die, is that it?!?!?”

    Step 3: Rationalization

    Truth claim reiterated: 2 + 2 = 4.

Lib Reaction: “How much are the Koch brothers paying you to post this nonsense?”

    Step 4: Consideration

    Truth claim a 4th time: 2 + 2 = 4.

Lib Reaction: “Prove it! Who’s your source? And even if 2 + 2 DID equal 4, and I’m NOT SAYING THAT IT DOES, there are still lots of times when it doesn’t.”

Step 5: Acceptance (with ad hominem)

    Final Truth claim: “2 + 2 = 4.”

Lib Reaction: “Fine, but that doesn’t mean that it’s true for all people in all places. For instance, it’s not true for me. And you’re still a GOOOOB!!!.”

  4. Martin’s autopsy report showed liver damage from continued use of something they call lean which is a mixture of Skittles, Watermellon Iced Tea and cough syrup. Martin’s cell phone messages show him asking where he can get more cough sryup with codeine. Martin was a punk with a violent temper unleashed on the public.

Obama wants people to believe that Martin was just a kid with a sweet tooth skipping home with his candy, not a thug smashing Zimmerman’s head into the concrete.

Obama has thrown America under the bus and he does it gleefullly. He was gunning for a Zimmerman to sacrifice. Instead of lecturing punk teens on behavior, he is lecturing law abiding Americans. His speech was written long before this incident. This is all part of his racist plan. Obama has been champing at the bit to use it. He is despicable.

  5. “According to Chris Matthews, some of Obama’s speeches are right up there with the Gettysburg Address. I really don’t see how clearly bright people can not see through the guy.”

There is no contradiction or irony whatsoever in the above statement.

  6. In the Gettysburg Address, Lincoln says “and with malice towards none.”

I feel a whole lot of malice coming our way from Obama. His speeches should be compared to those of Jeremiah Wright, Al Sharpton and Bin Laden.

  7. Vintage Obama. About a year before an election he throws a verbal firecracker which sets one of the henhouses in the Dem party squawking. Remember how his operatives ignited “the war on women” and then “the war against gay marriage”? This time it’s the blacks turn to get riled up in good time for 2014.

  8. More than the depredations against tradition, more than the political corruption, more than cultural destruction, the sycophancy of the MSM bespeaks our doom. The brilliance of the megalomaniac, in a healthy society, would remain only in his own mind. When it metastasizes into the vitals it’s inoperable and fatal. USA RIP.

  9. Obama and the MSM, each in their own way, are acting to keep liberal dupes interested and engaged. This is simply the current disingenuous tactic in the incremental deconstruction of America’s societal infrastructure.

Obama and the left’s goal is the fundamental transformation of America into a highly regulated socialist state, one devoid of ‘negative’ freedoms. The end result of which will be a society in which all thought, speech and behavior is characterized as either forbidden or mandatory.

In order to do that, deconstruction of the old order must be accomplished. Conversion or destruction are the only choices offered. Much like another totalitarian, expansionist ideology, known as Islam.

The parallels are not merely striking, they are tactically identical; no ethical constraint shall obstruct the world being forced to be ‘a better place’.

It’s for our own good and the end sought, justifies any means necessary to that end.

  10. “There are very few African Americans who haven’t had the experience of getting on an elevator and a woman clutching her purse nervously and holding her breath until she had a chance to get off.” — The Incumbent President, yesterday

There’s a reason for that, Mr. President. If we ever get around to having that conversation on race — no, not the one where your ilk haughtily lectures us neanderthals and our role is to listen in shame and guilt, but an honest, forthright conversation — you may get a clue, if you deign to *listen*. Sample some time, the facts on black-on-white crime, or, for that matter, the facts on black-on-*black* crime. Or is it okay for black thugs to shoot black teens, as long as they’re not “creepy-ass-cracka”s?

Try Rev. Jesse Jackson, Mr. President, at least as “African American” as you, and nobody’s oreo conservative: “There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery. Then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved…. After all we have been through. Just to think we can’t walk down our own streets, how humiliating.”

Humiliating for you, Rev. Jackson, and living in fear for many of us. And “us” includes all the good, decent black folks across the fruited plain, Mr. President.

    Go to h#ll, Mr. President.

  11. Neo, I’m not surprised at the MSM’s support of the speech but I am a lot more cynical than you. If I had to guess, most members of the liberal MSM are like almost every white liberal I have ever known- hypocrites. They live in Lilly white neighborhoods, send their kids to predominantly white upper middle class schools, and don’t socialize in any meaningful way with any minorities- the few they may know are not their closest friends, or theyre at the same economic and social level as themselves. They overcompensate for their total lack of minority interaction by going over the top pretending to sympathethize with minority views and causes.
A while ago somebody wrote an article about Chris Matthews’ claim about seeing all the hard working minorities in his neighborhood waiting for buses and so on. Turns out he lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland, which has a median income of $206,000 and an average home value of $944,000. It’s more than 98% white. That’s the face of white MSM liberalism. The only people they’re fooling with the black sympathy act is themselves.
How many ofyour liberal friends hang with a lot of minorities?

  12. southpaw,

There are IMO three main classes on the left; the committed Marxists like Bill Ayers, of whom there are tens of thousands, the white liberal/leftist elite of whom you speak, of which there are hundreds of thousands, perhaps even a few millions.

Then there are the great ‘unwashed’ white liberal dupes, the low information voter who gets all of their information from a seditious media but who simply cannot credit or face that academia, the news and entertainment media and, elected democrats are acting in collusion to destroy American liberties and transform this country into a highly regulated, tyrannical socialist state.

  13. To plug into an earlier discussion, the Zimmerman controversy is a perfect situation for an activist-run insurgent popular movement from the Right.

It should counter the Left’s demagoguery by advocating for the middle-class narrative and representing Zimmerman as a middle-class hero.

It should correct point by point the false narrative promoted by the Left.

It should feature ‘little old ladies’ (the elderly), disabled people, single moms, and other types of neighbors who depend especially on the Zimmermans of middle-class America to be vigilant and proactive and do exactly what Zimmerman did in reporting the suspicious Martin.

It should feature minorities of all stripes who care and need dutiful, caring, selfless neighbors like Zimmerman. As I’ve said, I used to work as a crime victim advocate, so I know minorities need caring vigilant neighbors like Zimmerman as much as anyone.

The Zimmerman controversy whould be an *easy* win for the Right with the Left’s overreach.

Except. But. The problem is the Left has impunity to inflame their race-mongering false narrative because the Right has purposely forfeited the Marxist game to the Left.

I can’t blame the Left for doing what the Left does. I can’t blame any competitor for taking advantage of an open field to run the ball into the end zone.

I do blame the Right for conceding America to the Marxists without not even trying to compete as activists.

  14. The Zimmerman controversy SHOULD be an *easy* win for the Right with the Left’s overreach.

  15. Oops. That’s 2.

I do blame the Right for conceding America to the Marxists WITHOUT EVEN trying to compete as activists.

  16. Truth is written by the victors
just claim victory, and go from there
who cares about those that know otherwise
in fifty years, only the references they want survive

If they could wipe out their hand in massacring thousands of blacks to change their vote from republican to democrat…

such things as this are piddly

  17. Eric, 5:00 pm — “[A]n activist-run insurgent popular movement from the Right . . . should feature ‘little old ladies’ (the elderly), disabled people, single moms, and other types of neighbors who depend especially on the Zimmermans of middle-class America to be vigilant and proactive . . . .”

It’s a good idea; perhaps there are souls available who are not as guarded as I am, because to be prominent in such a movement is to be marked for death by the predator class. I’d sure wish them well.

  18. “It’s Obama the brave, finally having that dialogue about race, and giving much-needed context to the case to teach white America about it.”

Wow, you’ ve hit the nail on the head there – the left, many minorities, and the MSM believe that we white Americans are just so ignorant about race that we do need to be taught a lesson and who better than the “first black president” to teach us!

This whole Martin-Zimmerman case has so upset me that I just want out!

  19. “the left, many minorities, and the MSM believe that we white Americans are just so ignorant about race that we do need to be taught a lesson”

True but it goes even deeper than that Charles.

Surely you’ve heard of white privilege?

That is an absolute tenet on the left and one that most blacks have enthusiastically embraced. It posits that, just by being a majority, whites benefit from that majority and thus participate in racism, even if they fully embrace the memes of the left… to address that inequity, the left calls for the deconstruction of that majority.

  20. Today is the 69th Anniversary: The Bomb Assassination Attempt on Adolf Hitler.

Oh, and the 44th Anniversary of American Men landing on the Moon.

I was 2-months old for the first and 25-years for the second. And stuck with a historical brain for Life. (-:

  21. It wasn’t until I reached my 40’s that I began to fully appreciate the importance, usefulness and relevance of history in understanding the present and the possible future that history points to…

I place the responsibility for my prior lack of appreciation for history upon callow youth and academics who, while perhaps interested in history haven’t the faintest clue as to the importance of context.

  22. The MSM, the progressives, and all their blog pals are in full on attack mode. They are turning up the rhetoric on the Martin/Zimmerman trial and are desperately tamping down the new revelations about the IRS. The House hearings on the IRS have become an all out war between the democrats and anyone who wants the truth out about the IRS bias against conservative groups.

Eric said, “To plug into an earlier discussion, the Zimmerman controversy is a perfect situation for an activist-run insurgent popular movement from the Right.” I respectfully disagree. I think we should keep repeating that the trial is over and that mobs should not form the basis for justice in this country. We should be trying to calm the waters because that is just the opposite of what Obama is doing.

We have bigger fish to fry. IMO, the IRS depredations and bias are issues that will resonate with the uncommitted LIVs more than the Martin/Zimmerman trial. Those are the things that conservatives should be concentrating on. No one loves the IRS, not even lefties. It is much easier to move people to vote for conservative candidates if they pledge to make sure the IRS is cleaned up and forced to become non-partisan.

Then there is Benghazi. Of all the administration scandals this one is more likely to lead to showing the President’s dereliction of duty. As a twofer, it also points to the ineptness of the wanna be future C-in-C who prefers pants suits.
A difficult task to keep probing that one, but we should encourage the House and Senate to keep pushing for facts.

  23. JJ,

I agree. As to Benghazi, the coerced non-disclosure statements survivors of Benghazi were made to sign are I suspect, a ‘path down which there may be much cheese’. That they were silenced speaks volumes.

  24. I’ve always been baffled by the media’s constant fawning over Obama’s bland and confusing verbal meanderings. At least yesterday’s try was “off the cuff” and thus lacked any real Gettysburgian aspirations.

I grew up in a ghetto. Obama would have been getting his butt kicked every other week for “talking like a white boy.” Yes, life is more dangerous for young black men than it is for young white men, but by far and away the greatest source of danger is: other young black men.

This is the huge elephant in the room. Unfortunately, the media encourages this mass psychosis by failing to state all the factors regarding crime, violence, and young black men in this country.

  25. denise,

“the media’s constant fawning over Obama’s bland and confusing verbal meanderings” is intended as an aid to the low-information liberal voter’s understanding that as the first black president, their white guilt is partially absolved.

There is a 2007 video of Obama, speaking to an audience of black ministers, including the Rev. Jeremiah Wright where he drops the ‘Harvard’ personna and the real Obama emerges.

The media does NOT ‘fail’ “to state all the factors regarding crime, violence, and young black men in this country”. They purposely, as a matter of policy and ideology avoid it. It’s blatant, intentional and their contribution to the seditious transformation of America into a socialist state.

  26. 35 years ago Obama was indeed an arrogant, self-absorbed pothead. So yes, 35 years ago in a very real sense he was Trayvon Martin.

By that comparative standard, we ought to be grateful that Trayvon Martin won’t grow up to be Barack Obama. One of those is one too many as it is.

  27. I was in a darkly humorous mood when I heard Mister Wonderful declaring that he IS Tray-Von.

I thought, “Brother, you got THAT right!”

    heh

  28. It’s like Americans are basically being reprimanded by this President and his supporters for not petting snarling Pit Bulldogs with an equal frequency they pet tail wagging Golden Retrievers.

These people despise the reality of the world we all live on.

  29. Pingback:In reading headlines this fine morning, I do believe the ultimate race war is upon US. THIS IS NOT, NOR WILL IT EVER BE AFRICA WEST! | et cetera*

  30. Hey Mr. President (though he doesn’t deserve the office), it’s commonly known about the Tawana Brawley case, which was a hoax, but how many of us know about Melissa McLauchlin? Raped, shot in the face 5 times, and thrown out on a road on New Year’s Eve 1992 by no less than 7 black humans. Not many of us do. MSM doing their job: gotta keep them white folks quiet. Don’t wanna rile them up.

I appreciate blogs such as Neo’s more every day. Thank you Neo.

  31. I live in the Washington DC area and three blacks were killed last night. It’s in the C section of the Sunday WAPO, didn’t even make the A section. I am waiting for them to move these stories to the entertainment section of the paper. These killings are so common nobody gets angry or hardly notices. Why doesn’t the president say something about this sort of thing?

  32. Obama the Brave

Fortunately my mouth was empty when I read that.

Otherwise, at best there would have been a mess to clean up. At worst a Heimlich maneuver would have been needed and there’s nobody around.

  33. I listened to a lot of the speech, and now and again, I thought he sounded moderate and measured. I am trying to be fair. HOWEVER, you are absolutely right, that he is throwing a private citizen, accused of a very serious crime – who has been acquitted, under the bus. It is unbelievable to me. I am stunned by this and I have never in my 56 years heard of a US President doing such a thing. When Nixon declared the Manson family guilty, in the middle of a trial, he was admonished. He butt out from then on. This interference has been more than an opinionated remark, but an ongoing campaign against this citizen, George Zimmerman. It is outrageous and frankly terrifying. The fact that Zimmerman is what the left likes to call “of color” himself, or a “POC”, person of color, makes it all the more crazy. I mean, he is half-white but he is most assuredly what the far left would consider non-white. This does not protect him. Not that it should, of course, but this shows just how much the left wants to use the race cudgel in an opportune moment. They will throw anyone under the bus if they have to. I expect this of academia by now, but I don’t expect it in a sitting US President.

We are in trouble, mark my words. Yes, there was a touch of moderation in there about respecting the verdict, but he should never have brought this up to begin with ever.

  34. southpaw
A while ago somebody wrote an article about Chris Matthews’ claim about seeing all the hard working minorities in his neighborhood waiting for buses and so on. Turns out he lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland..

Those would be the maids who live in DC and commute to jobs in Chevy Chase.

  35. Obama may finally be doing for the GOP what they should have done themselves.

He is proving that the Democrat party no longer stands for working Americans. It stands for the racial grievance industry and illegal immigrants.

  36. Do people still think Obama’s one of those incompetents who people don’t have to worry about and that the Left are only a “small minority” that elections can get rid of easily?

  37. Ymarsakar:

What “people” are you talking about?

I’m sure there are some people who “still” think that. I don’t recall more than one or two here to begin with who thought he didn’t have to be worried about, and those people haven’t been here for years.

Most people here—and actually elsewhere on the right side of the blogosphere—consider Obama (whether competent or incompetent—and I’ve long considered him quite competent at what he’s interested in, which is leftist politics), to be dangerous in what he is able to do during his term in office.

Certainly there were people who did think he would lose the election of 2012. A lot of people, many of them professional prognosticators. I never felt that way. I was consistently apprehensive that he would win. Whether this represented prescience or whether it represented pessimism (justified pessimism, in this case) I do not know. But I’m sorry I turned out to have been correct about that.

  38. Since Mitsu dropped by, there might be some others around that had similar feelings.
