An American Bride in Kabul — 13 Comments

  1. Muslims are barbarians.
Always have and always will be.
We have it within our ability reduce our payments to them with our new oil and gas discoveries.
That should be priority one but the Greens won’t allow it.

  2. I couldn’t give a shit what that Hinderaker recommends until his disowns that piece of shit Karl Rove.

    Yeah?

Fuck the elites. Fuck them, fuck them!

    We all feel this way.

  3. Of course, some people don’t even get it, whatever it is, after personal experience.
A clever metaphor is the guy who got run over by the marching band sitting amidst tubas and bass drums saying, “What the hell just happened?”
Chesler, at least, isn’t asking. She figured it out afterwards.

  4. The NY Post had an excerpt in the Sunday Edition. An earlier, but still current example of the fascination of young western women with Middle Eastern men they meet in College. The men seem to have abandoned most of their traditional restrictions when at school, but as soon as they marry their trophy wives they return to the fold. Also it seem to be their mothers in the home country who are the worst in treating their new daughters in law.

  5. Our young women are very spoiled and over-protected.

I don’t have much sympathy for this woman who allowed herself to be conned by a Muslim. She was looking for the exotic and defying the traditions of her family. She’s Jewish, for God’s sake!

She expected the benign and pampered life she experienced in the U.S. to be available to her in Kabul, as if that were her due.

And, now, she’s a feminist. Figures. Flip side of the same dumb coin that got her deep in the shit in the first place. She hasn’t learned a thing. Still an over entitled spoiled brat.

  6. There’s a reason the Torah gives the account of what Shimon and Levi did to their sister’s captor and his entire family. And although Jacob’s misgivings are mentioned, the writer (HaShem Yitbarakh) lets his two sons have the last word.

To Chesler’s credit, her parents tried to dissuade her from marrying a muzzie. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough. Hence my mention of the Biblical story of Dinah. A system of just laws is one that maximizes a nation’s options for protecting itself from assaults both military and demographic.

  7. Grwarsh, zt, what a racist you are. Even though all the Muslim lands are 100 times the area of Israel, and even though they have expelled all Jews, and even though they insist on racial and religious purity, it’s you, dammit, you that are racist because you provide food and care to your enemies and dare insist on a rule of law!

  8. Phyllis Chesler appears to be a more complex person than a standard issue left wing feminist. While many of her peers have sided with Islam I found this quote of hers on Wikipedia from 2007

“It’s easy to say, yes, the Muslims are against everyone who is not a Muslim. And it’s true. That’s part of what jihad is about, that’s part of the history of Islam. […] Here’s the thing. The West, and that means Jews and Israelis, would like to lead sweet and peaceful lives. We’re up against an enemy now that is dying to kill us, that lives to kill, and that at best merely wishes to impose on the rest of us its laws and strictures.”

So she is on the right side of at least one issue. I guess her personal experiences have much to do with her views.

  9. Many people have joined the feminist cause thinking it was one of liberty. What they didn’t know is that it was long ago hijacked by the Leftist alliance for another purpose entirely.

  10. Sarcasm acknowledged, Sharpie. 🙂 But providing food and care to Gaza, even during open hostility (like in Operation Pillar of Cloud in November 2012), is certainly not to Israel’s credit. It’s against Jewish values; a combination of misplaced humanitarianism and fear of international condemnation underlies this boneheaded policy on the part of Israel’s leadership.

Jewish values include charity and mercy, but they also include the story of Shimon and Levi I just mentioned, as well as the merciless campaign of Joshua against the Canaanites. Leftified Jews tend to ignore those chapters and precepts completely, being very inconvenient to their suicidal cosmopolitanism.

  11. This sounds very much liken the true story told in the film Not Without My Daughter. Sally Field played the lead role of an American wife who went to Iran (in the 1980s) with her Muslim physician husband and their young daughter. It was a vacation to see his family but once they got there he told her they would not return to the states and that their daughter would grow up in Iran. He became abusive, her passport and her daughter’s were taken. She eventually escaped with her little girl after a frightening ordeal.

It’s one of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen. I think it got a lot of mixed reviews at the time and accusations of racism, etc. from folks like Roger Ebert. But the plot line was very similar to what the author of the book describes in Neo’s post.

I don’t think that movie would ever get made in this day and age:

  12. I recall a lot of stupid American women who woould look me ( and others ) in the eye and tell us the wonders of their Persian/Saudi/Yemeni/etc boyfriends (ie they had money and goodies showered upon them ) and how wonderful Islamic culture ( because ours sucks so badly) treated women .

Fast forward 6-18 months and these same jackasses would be whining and crying how trapped and unhappy they were and it was always our fault. Somehow all of the US was at fault for them being shit for brains gold diggers .

    xin loi

  13. The reason why they blame the US is because it’s the only way not to be gang raped where they live. It’s a shield.

They also blame the US because feminists and Leftists told them that they could say “no” right before the act, during the act, and after the sexual act is done, if they felt like it.

They feel betrayed when they realize that that isn’t true. Which is true in a sense. They betrayed, by Democrats. Not by me.
