Fashion commentary about the Emmys…

from a very savvy and succinctly-spoken seven-year-old.

I agree with almost everything the kid says.

And I’ve never heard of most of the people pictured.

I agreed with her too, although I did like the red-wine dress. It reminded me of a time when my son was 4. We were in line at the library behind a girl with dozens of holes in her jeans. She said Hi to him, and he said, “You know, when my clothes get holes in them my mom buys me new ones.” Jeans with on-purpose holes still irritate him.

  2. expat Says:

I checked out the slide show at NRO and thought quite a few outfits were terrible. How come the Straight gowns all look so tight. When I was young, women wore sheath dresses, but I don’t remember women having such a stuffed-in look.

  3. Gringo Says:

Young children haven’t yet internalized the “If you can’t say something nice don’t say it at all” rule that is hammered into many of us as we grow up. The result is a candidness that is often refreshing. But not always.

Though I tended to agree with her opinions.

  4. A_Nonny_Mouse Says:

I would have said, “The blue falling-off-the-shoulders dress looks, ummm, like part of it is missing”.

Yes, that *IS* my “if you can’t say something nice” voice.
