Pelosi provides Obama’s perfect defense for lying about “If you like your…” — 13 Comments

  1. When Obama was given the 3 am phone call about Benghazi:

“You have to wait until morning and when my golf is finished before I can find out what was in it”

ACORN, the child prostitution ring supporter will be getting how much again from the ObamaCare wealth transfer?

They were supposed to be “defunded” after Breitbart’s productive attack and James O’Keefe’s infiltration, but it looks like they have “other ways” of funding evil.

  2. whats inteesting is the split between leftists who were able to see what they are going to get, being beaten up and yelled at as being not left, once they complain.

I just spent a break reading a line of discussion on a leftist thread as to the leftists complaining to other leftists about whats in here. and the minute they dont say the party line, the other leftists think they are not left, and attack and tell them they are lying, or the ad copy the administration gave them and us “for consumption”.

the stuff coming from them is amazing
calling for a good ID system they opposed as racist, but now want it so that healthcare works.

saying that they dont want to pay for obstetric care, they have balls…

my favorite one is one who re-wrote marx and declared this is the way it should be since its taking from those according to what they have, and giving it to others unfettered needs…

    love the addition of unfettered…

they are all over the map depending on whether they were working for someone and so dont need to go, or on their own and in freak out mode given what they did to themselves (and everyone else!!).

  3. Now I get it — he didn’t lie, we misheard him. He didn’t say, “If you like your policy, you can keep it. Period!” He said, “If I like your policy, you can keep it. Period!”

  4. things like this

Republicans’ new anti-Obamacare tactic: Class war

basically they are ignoring that Obamacare sets up the class warfare!!! and that without it, there could be none…

Now that it seems Healthcare.gov will be fixed soon, the new anti-Obamacare plan pits young males vs. seniors, sick
    http://www.salon.com/2013/10/28/republicans_new_anti_obamacare_tactic_class_war/

The right’s reaction to Healthcare.gov’s troubled rollout, and now to the prospect that it will be fixed before it becomes an existential liability to the Affordable Care Act writ large, reveals much more than the fact that conservatives really, really hate Obamacare.

you see? they really really hate it, and its all their fault, and its not obamacare itself, its the not left.

They want Healthcare.gov to fail, then, precisely because Obamacare isn’t the parade of horribles they’ve warned about, and they know it. Which is why they’re now widening their rearguard action.

see? it isnt a prade of horrible things for the 20 million that obama said is a small percentage…

Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce Committee were on the leading edge. Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, and his colleagues tried to stoke a fire of panic by advancing the false charge that Healthcare.gov violates legal protections preventing the government and private entities from disclosing people’s health status information.

actually, it does do that… in fact, if amazon, google, and facebook are part of it, and they are (just load in firebug, then look at the code… akamai!! facebook), then they get a peek… but the IRS needs the data too, so they get a peek… and more..

Other Republicans settled on a less mendacious strategy. It’s true that a subset of Affordable Care Act beneficiaries will see their overall out-of-pocket costs increase under the law, or be required to pay hundreds of dollars a month for first-time coverage, with no premium support from the government. Those people are coming out of the woodwork. And so Republicans are now spending as much time disingenuously bemoaning Healthcare.gov’s problems as they are pretending that the Obamacare marketplaces will create more losers than winners.

so what they are doing is painting their OWN people who are trying to clue in their OWN people, into evil others who are not to be heard.

so its not a leftist who voted for this if they complain, its only a leftist if they love it. if not, then they are evil not left, who are sabotaging…

this is so much like the OLD soviet union, only morons would not get it by now… (just check out the comments by the people arrested by russia for the oil derrick climing)

If a flood of stories about “rate shock” scare people out of browsing for plans themselves, all the better. But the real backup plan, such as it is, is to pit a thin demographic – healthy, young, middle-class, disproportionately male individuals who had cheap but crappy insurance until now and are resentful that they have to pay more – against the newly insured, and older, sicker beneficiaries who will see their costs go down, and hope the latter don’t have enough clout to prevail in a political brawl.

ah… so ALL males who dont want to pay for sandra fluke, obstetric care, maternity care, and breast exams for themselves… are now what?

We’ve known for years that Obamacare wouldn’t be immediately beneficial to everyone’s bottom line – that it would create a new financial hardship for a small minority of consumers. But first-year premiums actually came in lower than expected, which means this demographic will be smaller than anticipated.

first year premiums came in lower?
how did you make that determination sicne people have not been able to get onto the system to see first year premiums?

and most who do, find that they have to pay high rates, for high deductibles that amount to not actually having insurance but paying a lot for nothing.

Either way, though, the strategy will run headlong into the GOP’s overreach problem. If Republicans were really concerned about middle-class pocketbook issues, they’d argue in a limited way that Obamacare requires people of modest means to buy too much insurance. Pare down the definition of essential benefits somewhat or let more young beneficiaries purchase catastrophic plans, and the hit to their wallets wouldn’t be so severe.

but the republicans have no ability to do that
the dems are in control of ALL of that

Ending insurance company discrimination against people with preexisting conditions was a huge victory for the law’s authors, and they won’t entertain solutions to the rate shock “problem” that threaten the ban. Expecting otherwise would be like expecting the authors of the Civil Rights Act to loosen protections for minorities in 1965 because they made lines at lunch counters too long. The only ways to stop cross-subsidization are to end community rating and allow insurers to charge sick people more money, or end the individual mandate, and let the stratum of losers opt out of Obamacare without a penalty.

what i see is people are going to check off new things!!!

what religion are you? i am an atheist christian judaic islamic believer who dabbles in bhudism.

under islam i get to not have to participate, or be fined. thank you..

and if they say, you dont attend a church… i will say, you let men say they are women, despite having no womens genitals… and you let people claim orientation by just saying so.

so why cant i be islamic on the days that you want me to fill forms and something else on another day? you going to come up with religious tests, or religiousity tests for this? boy the secular jews would love that…

  5. A bit too transparent a dodge I think. Besides Obama and the left have already started to implement their damage control strategy.

Ace describes it in his post entitled, The Lies Continue On ObamaCare

“The president and his team at the White House have obviously fixed on a strategy todeal with the fallout of the failed ObamaCare, and it’s fairly typical. They’re going to find someone else to blame, simply continue to lie about it and hope the low information voters and True Believers buy it.”

I’m in substantive agreement but would amend Ace’s analysis on one point and correct an omission on another.

The amendment is to “They’re going to find someone else to blame, simply continue to lie about it and hope the low information voters and True Believers buy it.”

More accurately it would read, “They’re going to find someone else to blame, simply continue to lie about it and rely upon the MSM to spin and persuade the low information voters and True Believers to buy it.”

Ace’s omission is in failing to mention that ObamaCare is designed to collapse the private insurance industry. Evidence of that is provisions in ObamaCare that make it mandatory that insurance policies for the elderly of both sexes include maternity care…

The regulations are purposely restrictive in such a way as to force premiums much higher, all with the goal of collapsing private health insurance and paving the way for greatly increased demands from a deceived public for a single payer system.

  6. We have to pass the bill to know what’s in it, but we have lie about what we claim we don’t know is in the bill, to pass it.
    Yes, this makes sense.

  7. I like this over at HotAir about Obama’s calling out those “bad apple” insurance companies yesterday in his Boston speech:

“For insurance companies, who were in bed with the administration on this law knowing they’d get tons of new customers legally required to buy their product, it must hurt to get kicked out of bed right after the deed is done.”

Reminds me of how he turned on his Wall Street supporters/donors once he was safely elected.

  8. Shot right over my head neo. All for laughter but this is no laughing matter, people are going to get badly hurt over this…

Since Pelosi had the nerve or stupidity to say it in the first place, I really wouldn’t put it past them to trot it out again or at least some variation, like “just trust us, we’ve got your back”.

I’m far past the point of assuming that anything is beyond them. They’re justifying evil in the name of ideological theories that reality itself refutes.

  9. Ann:

Out of bed and under the bus.

Obama turns on everyone in the end, except the inner circle (Jarrett et al), if it suits his purposes.

Alice Palmer was his start in public life. By the way, the article I always link to when I mention Obama and Palmer (from the Chicago Tribune, 2007, titled “Obama knows his way around a ballot box”) keeps disappearing. I just noticed it has again disappeared. If anyone can find a working link, please let me know.

  10. I’m looking forward to the day when Nancy’s skin tightens to the point where her skull collapses.

  11. Bush turned a 100 biiolln dollar surplus into a 1.7 trillion deficate, while Obama turned a 1.7 trillion dollar deficate into a 1.7 trillion dollar deficate, now considering Romney is basicly trying to use Bush’s policies, what makes you think omney won’t end up with a 3.5 trillion dollar deficate? The US national dept is at almost 100% GPD, as bad as that sounds this has happened twice before in US history and the US recovered (though it took years), Romney is not the answer.
