The South African signer speaks… — 19 Comments

  1. And in the other weirdness at the Mandela funeral: What’s up with the prez doing his best Tiger Woods imitation? What is with these two guys having a thing for hot Scandinavian women? 😉

  2. Apparently he’s signed at past occasions. Six months or so ago his gibberish at another event was recorded, analyzed by a local sign language organization that then notified the government that he was a fraud. Not schizophrenia. Fraud.

  3. Here’s the details from a UK Telegraph article. The ANC already knew he was a fraud before booking him for Mandela’s memorial:

“Mr Buxton [CEO of of the British Deaf Association] said the man had provided sign language for a speech for Mr Zuma at a military event last year. At that appearance, a deaf person in the audience videotaped the event and gave it to the federation for the deaf, which analysed the video, prepared a report about it and submitted a formal complaint to the African National Congress (ANC).”

    This just in:

It has been confirmed by the Associated Pless that the Obama administration has identified that SA Interpreters have been hired to fix the ACA website.

  5. }}} What is with these two guys having a thing for hot Scandinavian women?

Eh? You figure there are two guys who don’t have a thing for hot Scandinavian women?

  6. It is the Cargo Cult mentality. They may not understand that signers for the hearing impaired used in western countries are actually imparting information. Just having someone going through the motions may symbolize to them that they are doing the right thing. Similar to building an airstrip and believing the cargo will soon arrive.

  7. The entire Left is a cargo cult about death and economic prosperity/equality.

Don Carlos, the elites think they are immune from assassination, what with their DC honor guards and Praetorian units, their SWAT union funded wing in the rest of America.

When the Left brings America down to the level of occupied Palestine, are they going to be morally outraged that the people dare to rise up using desperate measures?

  8. “There was no sign language used. It was only slapping of hands and movement of arms.”

Too bad he didn’t also move his feet. Could’ve become a Bantu dance thing, a hand-slapping, foot-thrusting memorial to Mandela, adopted all over the planet by people of color who agree with BHO that he was a “liberator.”

  9. J.J., 1:54 pm — “Just having someone going through the motions may symbolize to them that they are doing the right thing. Similar to building an airstrip and believing the cargo will soon arrive.”

Kinda sorta like having this affirmative action community organizer go through the motions, symbolizing to the true-believer cult members that he actually is functioning as a responsible chief executive with a genuine clue about what being an actual chief executive is all about.

  10. It gives voters in the US a confirmation that they are doing their duty in empowering American money tree. They’re voting for our good too.

  11. Lizzy; I, too, read that somewhere – he has done this faux-signing before. It makes me wonder, who is he related to so that he gets a government paying job even though, obviously, he isn’t qualified for that job.

Ah, the New South Africa – corruption at its best.

  12. In many parts thanks to Mandela. He may have given up Presidential power, supposedly, but the tribes that put him in power never gave up theirs. It was just a power transfer.

  13. This unreal – I cannot believe this guy was put on stage with a bunch of world leaders:

“[South African news network] eNCA’s investigations have found that Thamsanqa Jantjie, who is being treated for schizophrenia, has also faced rape (1994), theft (1995), housebreaking (1997), malicious damage to property (1998), murder, attempted murder and kidnapping (2003) charges.

Many of the charges brought against him were dropped, allegedly because he was mentally unfit to stand trial.”

  14. Lizzy:

I would bet money that he’s not schizophrenic, but just faking that, too, to get out of serving time.

    Just a hunch.

South Africa (and the rest of the world) is very very lucky that no harm came to anyone.
