Megyn Kelly is driving them crazy — 51 Comments

  1. Liberals like to make everything about race. They frequently count Hispanics as non-white which would surprise most Hispanics.

  2. I now regularly skip over O’Reilly ( and watch Big Bang reruns) to get to 9pm to watch her. She really is a talent. I even read somewhere else today (can’t recall) where the writer was predicting a presidential run! A bit premature to say the least, but that’s how she affects people with her honesty.

    BTW, Neo, it’s Megyn.

  3. Reminds me of an episode of “All in the Family” in which Archie and Henry Jefferson argued about whether God is white or black.

Henry: “They already proved that Jesus was an Ethiopian.”

Archie: “Wait a minute, now you say he’s an Ethiopian, the Presbyterians says he’s a Presbyterian….”

There’s an audio clip of the scene on Youtube

  4. Watching Kelly eviscerate one of the many talking heads could well be a spectator sport.

Don Rumsfeld dealing with the media in the early days of the Bush Administration was a similar experience.

  5. To the best of my understanding, Jesus was a middle eastern semitic Jew.

Therefore, he wasn’t black, and he wasn’t the reddish-blonde-haired blue-eyed Jesus of many classical paintings. He was of essentially same racial stock as Saddam Hussein, or as Yasser Arafat, or as Bashar al-Assad. (No, I’m not suggesting he was anything *like* them, I’m merely opining on his racial stock.)

Unless, that is, if Jesus was born of Mary and God, then the inherited characteristics of God come into play — in which case, anything goes; Jesus may well have been reddish-blonde-haired blue-eyed, . . . or he may have been black. Who knows?

  6. Neo,
If we all took the Nat Geo genomic testing then a lot of issues could be settled. For example, my results indicate that I am almost 100% from the Fertile Crescent, only recently (last 1000 years) going to Europe. I do not share genes with Northern Europeans or Russians. I do share genes with the Aryans of Persia and India, some Koreans and Malays, and some Georgians, among others – not generally considered White, last I checked.

Yet, to everyone I am seen as a “white European” (light skin, eyes, hair). Many of my fellow Ashnenazis have the same genetic profile. As usual, Meghan was right!

But what does it mean for the Pali claims that the “European” Jews are a bunch of latter day carpetbaggers? Interesting, that.

  7. Santa Claus, being a mostly Northern European creation, despite his historical origins of being from Asia Minor, is white.

If Northern Europeans had made Santa black they would have been accused of being racist.

Oh wait, the Dutch have already been accused of being racist for having Santa’s helper, Zwarte Piet (Black Pete).

Damned if you do, and damned if you don’t.

  8. She’s dedicated to integrity, to truth, to her viewers, unless I’m greatly mistaken.

That’s why I love her. Because I’m ony as good as my information and she convinces me that her information is true or at least dedicated to that end.

That’s great. And that she is such a repudiation against feminism and media narrative, well, that’s only decoration. The decoration is deserved: We are seeing a true “Churchill” in the becoming. Does she have ambition? Well so. Without which she would never appear.

In fact, I name her nearest accomplice to be Neo, or perhaps Pamela Geller, or Ted Cruz . . . all of which want truth, the search for the truth, and the love of truth to prevail.

    (The comma not needed.)

  9. With Kelly I don’t have to yell at the TV screen, urging her to call her guests on their BS–that’s her specialty, and she does it better than anyone else on TV.

Which is why President Obama will never grace her TV show with his presence.

  10. Many of the brown genes that dominate the Middle East today are surprisingly recent.

Muslims tell of Mo’ being a red-beard — hence the use of henna in beards to this day — for the vain Muslims.

Turks, Bulgars, Maygars, Huns, Azeris are ALL ‘modern’ arrivals.

One of the few, remnant niches of Levantine DNA runs through the Maltese. They are just one happy family/ clan. They came to Malta by way of Carthage… by way of Phoenicia… essentially the sole paternal echo of the Caananites… DNA that is as evanescent as a Cheshire cat back in the old Levantine stomping grounds of antiquity.

“Another theory suggests that the word Malta comes from the Phoenician word Maleth meaning “a haven”[25] in reference to Malta’s many bays and coves.” Wiki

If the Maltese are bell weathers for eumelanin concentrations

  11. Continuing after Web flinch…

Then the ancient Levant was a pretty pale place.

    ========

In Black politics, Ashkenazi Jews count as Double White…

    It’s the politics of envy…

Cf Kanye West… Al Sharpton… et. al.

  12. I used to watch her appearance’s on O’Reilly with great interest. Here was this beautiful woman standing up to O’Reilly and more than holding her own. That was a lot of fun and reminded me why the Irish are often known as the “Fighting Irish.” By gosh, she’s got spunk! And plenty of brains to go with it. She’s made a big splash in this new time slot for all the reasons stated by neo and my fellow commenters. All I can say is, “You go girl!”

  13. The human race is so thoroughly mixed up, even as long ago as 2000 years, that who knows [or, more importantly, who cares] whether Jesus was white, black, brown, yellow, or green. This is an issue only the thoroughly racist Democrats can worry about. Who the hell cares? I guess the answer is simply, “racist Democrats” (redundancy alert!).

  14. She’s one of those rare beautiful women whom other women instinctively like. She’s so direct and genuine that she disarms envy.

  15. I believe eventually she will beat O’Reilly in the ratings.
    O”Reilly is the spin zone.
Megyn is the real no spin zone.

  16. neo-neocon, she is also from Syracuse and went to law school there. I believe she practiced law for a time and you can see her switch to attorney mode sometimes. “isn’t it true . . .”

Megyn Kelly is the only reason I watch Fox News in the evenings anymore.

  17. I agree with Mispants–although the only woman I can speak for is my wife.

It will be interesting to see if the Left decides to attack her. I have no doubt that they want to, but not sure they have the nerve.

She is one of a kind. Sarah Palin was the hockey mom, or pit bull with lipstick. Megyn Kelly is the rhetorical assassin with drop dead looks, a law degree, and a rapier wit. She combines everything that the feminists claim they want for women; education, family, career, success at the pinnacle. Attack at your own risk. She will carve you up with a smile and a twinkle in her eye.

I do hate that foolishness about running for President. Why, oh why do some people have to start that stuff as soon as a new star bursts on the public stage? I would like to believe that Ms Kelly is smart enough to realize that there is a great leap from what she does to running a country. If she has ambitions in that direction, then she needs to leave the stage pretty soon and go get her hands dirty in a leadership role.

Love her as she is, and where she is.

    PS
I still love Sarah, but this is another league all together in terms of star power. On the other hand, some folks would like for us to forget that SP governed a large state under rather difficult conditions. She did get her hands dirty, and worked her way up through determination, courage and competence.

  18. }}} They frequently count Hispanics as non-white which would surprise most Hispanics.

I believe George Zimmerman would disagree…. LOL.

I do hate that foolishness about running for President. Why, oh why do some people have to start that stuff as soon as a new star bursts on the public stage?

I agree. That is no different than the Cult of Personality that gave us Obama.

And apparently conservatives are not immune. I remember several cases in recent years. For example, some people wanted General Petraeus to run. I had no idea what his political philosophy was, or if he even had one. He could have been an FDR Democrat for all I knew. But there were a number of people who assumed that he must be conservative simply because he was a general in the Army.

Then people latched onto Marco Rubio, based on a single speech and the fact that he was handsome. Then he showed his true colors with amnesty.

I can even remember about a decade or so ago, when some people seriously wished that Colon Bowel would run on the Republican ticket. Honestly, I don’t see how he would have been any better than Obama. He clearly elevates race above all else in his political considerations.

This is enough to drive me to despair. Evidently there are large numbers of people across the political spectrum who simply wish to be ruled by a charismatic and attractive leader.

  20. }}} I don’t think anyone as gorgeous as she should have a name ending in “gyn”.

Really? It seems more like anyone as gorgeous as she is should very appropriately have a name with “gyn” in it. 😀

As far as race goes — I was born in 1959, to an Iowa girl with mixed WASP genes — mostly Scot and English (plus a few random outsiders, I think some Amerinds) and to a full blood Italian.

When my mother took me in “swaddling clothes” to my GGparents house (GGF born in 1872, I believe, GGM in 1880), my GGM opened the door. My GGF was sitting in a chair that allowed him to see her in the doorway with me. My GGF said, “You’re not bringing that nigger baby in this house.” My GGM reluctantly closed the door in my mothers’ face. Yes, half-Italian is a “nigger baby”. Hilarious by modern standards among most whites. As far as my appearance, not a person on this planet would look at a picture of me and say I was anything but white.

I never really “met” him. He passed away within a couple years of that, and I was welcome in my GGM’s house (who occasionally baby sat) as far back as I can remember, which would be ca. 1963 or so.

I apologize if the use of the “N” word offends anyone, I think the word, exactly as he used it, is kind of appropriate in context because of the absurdity of it. It makes a point of how racist ideas have changed in the last 100+ years.

AS far as the MK thing, yeah, it’s amusing how desperately they’ll contort this to try and make it a “clearly incorrect” statement. White people, for the purposes of this incidence of Perpetual Indignance, are only Northern Europeans, perhaps including Russians. If you’re Greek, or Levantine, you’re a wog or a sand jockey, and not a white man. And yeah, Jews aren’t white either. Not sure exactly what they’re supposed to be, since race is kind of a purely visual quality, and they damned sure don’t look like any other one of the two major race classifications.

  21. rickl, 9:11 pm — “Evidently there are large numbers of people across the political spectrum who simply wish to be ruled by a charismatic and attractive leader.”

Something of a substitute for God, if you ask me (which you didn’t).

  22. Watching the Chris Hayes response convinced me that he is a complete loon.
As if there was any doubt.

  23. Rupert Murdoch needs to put Kelly on Fox Broadcasting (Murdoch owns Fox News and Fox Broadcasting), and let her go head-to-head against the big three network news operations. I think she’d clean their clocks ratings-wise.

  24. Personally, I have no hesitation to have the charismatic and attractive Sarah Palin as chief executive.

  25. IGotBupkis:

That is very close to the context in which I first heard the N-word. One summer I was playing in a neighbor’s yard, and their grandfather lived there, too. He was probably born in 1875 or thereabouts, and he greeted me by chuckling and saying, “You look like a little (N-word) baby!”

I was three years old. I had no idea what he meant. Let me just say that I am rather dark and have curly hair, and when I was three my hair was short and curly. I went home later that day and asked my mother what “N-word baby” meant, and she got upset and told me it was a bad word people used for Negroes (that was a good word back then), and that I should never say it.

    Similar story, no?

  26. Florence King, a very funny writer born, IIRC, in the 1940s or so, had a grandmother she described as an “arch-segregationist with perfect manners.” Florence says when she was a little girl in Virginia, she and Grandmother would go to the movies, where the concession stand had, among other delights, little licorice babies that were called “n—- babies.” Her grandmother, aware that some nice colored folks were in the vicinity, asked Florence, “Honey, do you want some babies to eat in the movies?”

  27. Here’s an interesting article: “Who were the Galileans in Jesus’ time?” (Jesus was also a Galilean.)

    http://www.travelujah.com/articles.php?action=viewarticle&articleID=40

In the New Testament, Jesus’ disciples were spotted by some in the crowd as being Galileans, ergo probably followers of Jesus, while he was on trial; that means they looked different in some way.

Here’s the passage: from Luke 22:59-62.

59 And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.

60 And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.

61 And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

62 And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.

  28. Fox News had to get rid of the other person because they were creating news and promoting a crusade against Soros, the Left, and Islamic Jihad.

The Left’s criticism about Fox News isn’t intended to convince their loyal dogs on the ground, although it helps, but to make the editors and brass at FN take action to maintain neutrality in the face of said public criticism.

Like most people, conservatives and Republican operatives included, they think America, the government (President), and the Left will leave them alone if they behave in a normally socialized way.

Kelly does things in a more subtle way, so they can’t get rid of her. She only reports the news as it is being circulated amongst the media organs like Reuters or AP or CNN’s club photos. Thus she doesn’t go against the tide and doesn’t need her own private network. Not yet at least. One never knows how the chess game will progress, even if the initial positions are orthodox.

This is enough to drive me to despair. Evidently there are large numbers of people across the political spectrum who simply wish to be ruled by a charismatic and attractive leader.

People are looking for a leader and a hero to tell them what to do. While many people here may disagree about that notion, it’s de facto true for the general majority of humanity. Even if the people want to rise up and overthrow tyranny, they are Still Looking For A Leader to give them permission, authorization to do so.

It’s a basic human drive or instinct. That whenever we need to accomplish something “Big”, we got to get organized so the left hand doesn’t mess up the right hand’s projects. But the Leftist Alliance was created explicitly to subvert, infiltrate, sabotage, and destroy organizations based upon authority. Feminism, black civil rights, Roman Catholic Church, Protestant Churches, black liberation churches, all were subverted and assimilated in due time. Even America’s Presidency, Academia, and power generation infrastructure were not immune.

Having an “authority” may be true to our human origins, but it was an origin developed to fight and contest mother nature. It was not a social structure designed to destroy the Left. Thus our instincts are wrong on this matter, even though it be backed by thousands of years of human evolution and survival. It is not enough against the virus that is the Left, the AIDS/HIV infiltration that uses our own greatest strengths against us, that sets our protectors, white blood cells designed to destroy internal and external invaders, against us.

The natural response is to find the right leader, give him more and more power. But the right response is to divide the accumulation of power and send it back down to the smallest divisible unit that humanity can operate under. Which would be either solo lone wolves or duo buddy partnerships.

Instead of a Revolution that just puts us back at square one, 360 degrees later, what humanity needs is a Re-Evolution, starting the path of social evolution from one man, one woman.

Of course none of that would be necessary if every Leftist was wiped out of existence by a war of holy flames, but that’s not always going to happen.

  29. The only actual feminists are all Republicans.

Unfortunately, Republican Women – as a rule – are better men than Republican men are.

Liberals are not feminist they are fascist and elitist.

Republican men – as a rule – are flat out wimps. They are afraid of saying anything someone might not like. They are afraid of their own shadows.

The exceptions are notable by simply being men.

  30. “I do hate that foolishness about running for President. Why, oh why do some people have to start that stuff as soon as a new star bursts on the public stage? ”

A couple of points on this: the right is desperate for a true leader, so therefore when anyone with such charisma appears, people immediately look to that person for leadership. It’s a sad statement of how lacking the right is at the moment for that one person to step up. Certainly, in a bygone era Kelly would have been defined as the “it” girl.

And what happens when that person appears? Here’s an interesting article that discusses this idea, and what happens next when that spark ignites the tinder:

Personally, I have no hesitation to have the charismatic and attractive Sarah Palin as chief executive.

Charismatic and attractive, definitely. She’s also obviously not a narcissist, and her religious belief keeps her humble.

Which, paradoxically, is why I think she would have good leadership abilities.

  32. The only actual feminists are all Republicans.

One might say the same thing about actual blacks or actual patriots or actual Americans.

But eventually, the Left’s degree of control is such that the “actual” ones become under their control.

  33. Regarding Parker’s comment: “Personally, I have no hesitation to have the charismatic and attractive Sarah Palin as chief executive.”

I believe that I pointed out the difference between SP and MK when I noted that SP had in fact got her hands dirty by getting in the arena and working her way up the leadership ladder. Even so, I do not think that she is ready to be Chief Executive; I did think that a term as VP would probably change that however. Too bad her star was hitched to a loser.

Mike, you paint with an awfully broad brush.

  34. No regime is impermeable to truth forever, although I should have thought that the malignant treachery of Benghazi or a score of other beguilements were of sufficient enough gravity to topple the Wretched House of Obama.

If the author here had seen the unhidden face of the Left, he might not have thought such things that never came to pass. To think that such minor footnotes would be of sufficient gravity is to take the Left lightly.

Of course people may be convinced increasingly by corrupt and treasonous acts. But if the will of the people were enough, one wouldn’t need a war.

  35. Kelly is wonderful!

I think the funniest aspect of the “white Santa” issue is something that many people totally missed. Kelly meant that Santa IS white in the same sense that Mickey Mouse IS white-faced with black ears, Hobbits HAVE big feet, My Little Pony Rainbow Dash IS a blue pony with a rainbow mane and tail, and unicorns ARE horses (or ponies) with a single horn growing out of their forehead.

That’s why she was almost laughing about it. No one she talked with got it.

She seemed a little laughingly frustrated by the fact that she didn’t want to say out loud that Santa is just an invented or created character, because, as she said, children are in the audience. She just thought they would see what she was saying, but they didn’t.

  36. You know, I’ve got to question just why Kelly did a segment on her show about the essay in the first place. I’d say it’s far better, and wiser, to not go anywhere near something that’s got the potential to be racially inflammatory in today’s climate, especially on a conservative network.

  37. Just being a human is racially inflammatory to the Left’s minions. Can’t stop being human unless you become a Leftist zombie tho.

  38. Gawd, how desperately the Leftoids must be trying to build a dirt file on Megyn. 10-seconds after McCain announced Sarah as his running mate the Demo-scum—lawyers, nearly all—were embarking for Alaska and micro-fishing for Palin ‘dirt’. They found(GASP!!)she had a funny accent, played women’s basketball and shot the s**t outta wolves. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad in Lib World.

  39. Megyn Kelly is, very simply, compelling to watch.

Her beauty, I’m sure, helped open some doors. And it probably has an effect on her interviewees, disarming them early on before they realize the high degree of intelligence they are up against, not to mention her ability to think on her feet (even while sitting thru her broadcast) lol. We have become so used to speeches read almost entirely from teleprompters with no press followup because said speechmakers (like B.O. ya think?) are petrified that the curtain will be pulled back leaving them exposed as the phonies they are.

Also there are also all the political strategists who are guests on FOX prepared to reel off the day’s Talking Points (especially the Dems) while attempting to outshout the host and any other guests with their own brand of filibuster.

But part of Kelly’s gift is her willingness to actually listen to the words of her guests, and then think on her feet — showing that not only was she list

  40. NeoConScum, one of them rented a house or room that was overlooking Palin’s house.

Imagine if an Obamacan or IRS agent did that to your house when you became too large for the public to ignore.

  41. oops– cut off before I finished)

My last point being that she listens and synthesizes the information spoken to her and her audience, and is all too ready to (politely and respectfully) come back with well thought out questions or challenge to dubious facts and claims.
She is aggressive in her professional life and personal life, determined to literally “have it all,” She seems to be successfully doing so — as her career has taken off like a rocket, she’s also managed to marry and then proceed to have 3 children in three years.

She is aggressive on air, as well, but her charm and that little laugh of hers take the edge off the curtness and patronizing tone that so many other female news anchors live by believing it gives them the gravitas required for the job.

Ms. Kelly can be at once firm and forceful with her guests, or display genuine empathy — as she did the other day when talking to a group of the parents who lost children in last year’s debacle in Newtown. She also ably expresses outrage such as in discussions with people who have lost their health insurance due to Obamacare. Throughout all, however, she never tries to stifle her own personality which makes her so eminently watchable vs. many other anchors (especially female) who seem to feel that only straight and serious manner will give them authenticity and believability.

She’s serious about her work and the subject at hand which can be as diverse as nuclear threat from Iran, the continuing debacle of Obamacare, or a recent story of how and why a white Santa is such a hot button among young Blacks. But don’t be surprised if she injects a bit of humor — often humorous self-deprecating moment, or a shout-out to her Nana. (If you watch her regularly, you have to know about Nana!)

Those looking to knock her down or quell her rising popularity will use anything as a target. Hopefully they will be as successful as Mr. Obama was when he repeaedly tried to delegitimize FOX as a serious news source. (That is, not very).

I’ve been hooked on watching her even before she got the 1:00 PM slot and once she did, I have to admit I did find myself just ever so subtly jockeying my “To Do” list so I could watch her! Now I look forward to 9:00 because she artfully reviews the day’s news, and no matter how deadly serious the issues may be, when she signs off you want to look forward to the next day because you want to hear more from her.

She seems to be the perfect symbol for Fox News’ main tagline: Fearless and Unafraid!

Bit of trivia: when she first arrived at FOX she carried the name of her former husband and was known as Megyn Gallagher. When she divorced, I assumed she returned to her maiden name — Kelly. In pure coincidence, her on-air male partner (FOX usually pairs a man and a woman on each news show throughout the day) who moved with her from the 1:00 PM slot to primetime 9:00 PM is Tres Gallagher — no relation.

  42. }}} Similar story, no?

Possibly — my GGF meant it with a clearer level of malice, perhaps, than your neighbor did. Your neighbor might have been semi-innocently using it as a reference to a certain type of appearance (I’ve heard, for example, certain shades of blue, used on cars, to be “N**-blue”, the notion being that they are bright and garish and only someone with the color sense of “black trash” would like it), more so than as a truly negative appellation — while in both the N-baby and N-blue senses, the reference strikes me as more offensive because of the “N” word usage than the direct intent of the user thinking the person is subhuman.

Not to suggest it was not inappropriate to use, but I make allowances for the times a man grew up in as much as how they intended it. Given he was laughing he may not have been thinking ill of black people in the context. That would have to derive from other interactions with the man.

And in both cases, it’s unfortunate, but I would not utterly blame them for their use of the word than I blame the Founding Fathers who were slave owners. They were products of their times and, at least on some levels, failed to rise above their teachings, due to either circumstance or financial limitations. This is not unusual for humans, and I won’t be overly upset with someone for not being an exceptional human being. Not that I don’t expect people to rise above their surroundings — I’m simply not going to be upset if they don’t.

  43. }}} Quare: Is fretting over Christ’s race Christ-like? Just askin’

This is an interesting philosophical conundrum, I grant.

Allow me to phrase it thus:
Is it inappropriate to insist that the Truth be told, when one has to argue over a point which, as you suggest, should not matter?

I believe a reverence for the Truth does allow for such things.

Equally importantly, it provides a venue for calling attention to answering the following question from a child:

“Why is Santa(Jesus)’s skin color different from mine?”
“It just is, child. Some people have dark hair, some have light. Some have blue eyes, some green, some brown. It’s the way they are born. It does not matter in the least. You should judge people by what they DO, not how they LOOK.”

This is the exact opposite of what Aisha Harris, of Slate, who started this controversy, was taught:
    http://www.slate.com/articles/life/holidays/2013/12/santa_claus_an_old_white_man_not_anymore_meet_santa_the_penguin_a_new_christmas.html

    (Side note: “Consensus”**)
By being told “Santa is every color”, she was never told “skin color doesn’t matter, and you should ignore it.”

You see — at the heart of all this insistence by The Left that the color of Santa should be “nonDenominational” is the teaching that skin color should matter. That the skin color of Santa — and even more so, of Jesus — is somehow not just relevant to the memes they represent, but MORE IMPORTANT than those memes.

I contend that the current race memes are utterly anathema to MLK’s admonition to judge people not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. They are divisive, envy and hatred producing tactics that needlessly foment resentment and violence between people.

As the 80s progressed we were well on the way to producing a generation of blacks and whites who accepted one another as equals. Then Sharpton and Jackson got busy.

I will not claim God’s prerogative in who gets to enter Heaven and Hell, but I will express my opinion that those two, and their ilk, will not be in a comfortable place after this life.

    =============
**Harris comments:”you’re likely to accept the consensus view, despite your parents’ noble intentions.”

Because, after all — consensus isn’t important at all… right?
