Separated at birth

These two really were separated at birth.

Literally.

I had a big crush on Lea Thompson back in the day (c. Red Dawn).
    I suppose that’s her daughter.
    Nice genes.

  2. Ymarsakar Says:

Kawaii deshou. But still no idea who they are.

  3. Brad Says:

I too thought Lea was the most beautiful girl in the world when she was young.
Wasn’t she a ballet dancer in her youth?

  4. Matt_SE Says:

Don’t know if she danced, but she was Some kind of Wonderful.

  5. J.J. Says:

That is Lea Thompson and her daughter, Zoey Duetch. The apple did not fall far from the tree.

  6. Mythx Says:

I have always liked Lea Thompson. I do think I remember her being a dancer then having a medical issue.
She always seemed like one of the most “real” of Hollywood actresses. Pretty without a ton of effort, she appears nice and I dont recall her being swept up in a bunch of scandal, lefty causes or relentless self promotion.
Oh an she looks like she is aging without the need to butcher herself with a ton of surgery.
Wish there were more like her in that business

  7. momo Says:

Lea Thompson is way way hotter.

  8. csimon Says:

I had forgotten all about Leah Thompson. Out of the limelight for a long time.

I always thought of her as cute…i.e. as opposed to “hot.” Pretty in a sweet all-American way, but not gorgeious. Maybe it’s something in way men look at women vs. women looking at other women?

Then again, I think her daughter is absolutely stunning!

  9. Ymarsakar Says:

The Japanese definition of kawaii (cute) as opposed to moe moe te (burning up) is between

    1. Something that is aesthetically beautiful or adorable enough to be protected by personal risk taking

    2. Something that excites or inflames a person’s passions.

Well, I suppose there’s probably a lot of internal debate in Japan on the subject, but that’s my transliteration at least of the popular concepts.

    kakkoii=cool, manly, upstanding grandstanding.

That’s why when the Left attacked Sarah Palin, they could never seem to diminish the fact that she was still considered “hot” by the young Democrat college and high school peeps. Instead they used that as a way to lower her status and get people into the habit of seeing her as a submissive type of person in the social ladder. If people had reacted to her by saying she’s cute… that would have implied completely different conceptual propaganda at work.

The Japanese concepts are rooted in gender bias and differentiation, so even cultures without such concepts show some of the signs.

  10. Doom Says:

We were all separated at birth, before that actually. First from dad, then from mom. Never mind, just… odd mood, and chuckling at odd thoughts, and open to odd thought stimuli this morning.

    re: Doom

I keep hearing Wally Shawn saying “inconceivable!”
