Avoiding the re-education camps at McGill

How? Apologize:

Oppression, as outlined in SSMU’s Equity Policy, means the exercise of power by a group of people over another group of people with specific consideration of cultural, historical and living legacies. The image in question was an extension of the cultural, historical and living legacy surrounding people of color—particularly young men—being portrayed as violent in contemporary culture and media. By using this particular image of President Obama, I unknowingly perpetuated this living legacy and subsequently allowed a medium of SSMU’s communication to become the site of a microaggression; for this, I am deeply sorry.

But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself.

Welcome to zombie land. Humanity and the human soul, once abdicated and destroyed by the self, cannot be recovered with the snap of the Democrat wrist. Not even necros can raise a corpse and restore life to that corpse. That kind of miraculous resurrection takes divine level power, not merely necromonger type voodoo cultism and human sacrifices.

Yo Brian, hope your soul was worth it to you. Cause you ain’t getting a refund from the Left on it. Don’t blame us if the stuff they promised you never ends up at your door.

Now we have to contend with micro aggression, in other words imaginary aggression. This will not stop until someone so accused refuses to cower and labels this for what it is: BS.

  3. Sgt. Mom Says:

Ah … poor little chap. He’s been convicted of the crime of lese majeste. I wrote about the last incidence of it here –
    http://www.ncobrief.com/index.php/archives/lese-majeste/

I was at a rodeo this last weekend – didn’t notice if the clown had an Obama mask on. But then, we were so far up in the nosebleed seats that the cows and horses all looked to be the size of mice anyway.

    This is really pretty chilling.

  5. Ann Says:

So that video got its first showing by Jay Leno on the Tonight Show. Wonder if stuff like that led to NBC’s dumping him?

  6. chuck Says:

He could have told them to fug off. I got myself kicked out of college classes back in the day, I don’t see how anyone of integrity could avoid it.

  7. blert Says:

At least he didn’t have to endure the rat-to-face threat.

    He’s getting “…his mind, right…

as Captain/ Strother Martin would drawl.

  8. Memphis Steve Says:

So in the twisted minds of the socialists at this university, a student who drew a harmless picture of Obama is oppressing Obama by virtue of the fact that he is semi-black? I’m confused as to just how they contorted their psychotic little minds to justify this. I’m not surprised, just confused.

  9. Beverly Says:

This is classic Communist samokritika, i.e., ritual self-abasement at the feet of the Party chiefs.

    http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/0036-0341.571999057/abstract

And there is still no circulating copy of Whittaker Chambers’ memoir Witness in the entire New York People’s Public Library system. For shame!

  10. Beverly Says:

I hope you will look at that link: it tells us about the Samokritika rituals (yes, rituals) in the Stalinist Central Committee, ca. 1933-1938, when the Red Terror was at its height.

  11. bob sykes Says:

There is no reason for a white male to be in college. Aside from engineering, the bachelor’s degree is worthless, and a white male can earn more as a skilled laborer.

A male of any race should also carefully consider whether there are any benefits to marriage. Sex is readily available, and vasectomies are cheap and reliable.

It is Canada, they don’t have that pesky first amendment to worry about…

Perhaps one can also recall the self-criticism rituals of the Cultural Revolution in China.

Plenty of western academics were and probably remain Maoists. Just call it a struggle session …

Bill Ayers is still an avowed Maoist last I read.

  14. Don Carlos Says:

“I unknowingly perpetuated this”. Unknowingly. So the ‘microaggressor’ is his own self-labeled victim. Nothing is their fault.

  15. Ray Says:

Political correctness is the belief that you are a victim of persecution. People who believe that are called paranoid. You are dealing with psychosis. In other words, the PC crowd live in fantasy land and they will do everything in their power to maintain the fantasy.

  16. Ymarsakar Says:

One of the easier ways to maintain a Slave Empire and plantation system is for the slaves themselves to enforce their bondage and to place the shackles on their own children and on their own souls.

This is called Accepting your Place as livestock, and giving up your born human soul and free will for the benefit of your genetically superior Masters. This is called Utopia.

  17. Ymarsakar Says:

The true power of the Leftist alliance for human slavery is not wealth redistribution, class warfare, corruption, stupidity, foolishness, or political authoritarian totalitarian policies.

    It is this.

    Mind control.

    Spirit control.

    Physical control.

In the same fashion we control our pets and to a certain extent insects, so shall the Left control the human race. That is True Power. It is something above mere political or military power. It is a different level of control, of leverage.

Much as people sought after the Miraculous Perpetual Motion and Energy Machine. This will be the Left’s invention of the post Enlightenment Perpetual Slavery machine that does not require the high maintenance costs of China, Russia, or North Korea. It will be maintenance free.

  18. Beverly Says:

Didn’t the original Bolsheviks brag about breaking the human spirit? They specialize in total degradation and debasement. Remember the climactic moment in 1984, when Winston in their torture chamber cries out, “Do it to Julia!” his lover?

Once they terrorized him into betraying the one he loved, they were done: his soul, they believed, was broken.

But the Son of God has the last word, not evil humans, not the devil. And He said that nothing from without can defile you: only that which comes from within you can defile you.

He also said, “be of good cheer: I have overcome the world.”

Did you follow the link in the last paragraph of my post? It’s from the conclusion of the book Nineteen Eighty-Four.

  20. Eric Says:

Note that this social corrective procedure isn’t by the university, it’s within a student organization:

http://ssmu.mcgill.ca/, the “students’ society” of McGill University.

Student groups should have the freedom of space to format their internal controls. I say that as someone who, as an undergrad, started his university’s veterans group with a constitution that codified a procedure to ensure it would stay a veteran-controlled and veteran-dominant group.

However, the SS (ha!) of MU is more than a campus affinity or affiliation group: it’s their student union. As such, I hope McGill students spotlight and vigorously debate the issue, and inform their representatives, so that the procedure is re-evaluated.

Make sure to read the grad student’s statement at the Legal Insurrection page that Neo linked. I agree with him.

Critical social theory is fine and useful when applied in an academic box. Critical theory is misapplied and harmful when transmuted into a real-world punitive, social regulatory procedure.

About Me

Previously a lifelong Democrat, born in New York and living in New England, surrounded by liberals on all sides, I've found myself slowly but surely leaving the fold and becoming that dread thing: a neocon.
