Bringing a gun to a knife fight — 19 Comments

  1. There have been mass stabbings at Chinese schools. This is never mention when there is a school shooting in the US by the gun control advocates.

  2. In the U.S. we have about 90 guns per 100 people. In Ukraine it is about seven. Were those numbers reversed, Russia would think twice about going well into Ukraine.

  3. There was a massive knifing attack (22 children slashed, not sure how many died) in China on the same date as the Newtown gun attack (20 first grade children killed). Both perpetrators were crazy and sought personal revenge upon society.

In its annual human rights report, released in May, the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in New York condemned U.S. gun ownership.

Big governments work together … to expand command and control of the people.

  4. What it also does, is tells every unarmed civilian out there, that they cannot rely on their own defenses, or the police, to save them. So they better be figuring out how to negotiate with the terrorists. The authorities have just by many factors, or exponentially, expanded their problem by both not allowing self defense and being unable to prevent this slaughter. Even scared sheep can be dangerous, but people simply aren’t sheep.

  5. If China’s Muslim population becomes too much of a problem, if a tipping point is reached, the Chinese leadership will deal with it decisively. They will end the problem, period.

Though it is not overt, no more insular and racist society exists on earth than the Chinese and China has never embraced the West’s philosophy of individual self-determination and rights.

  6. In this case, the Uighurs are brutally suppressed in their homeland, Google organ harvesting. In Tibet, Buddhist monks immolate themselves instead.

  7. “Even scared sheep can be dangerous, but people simply aren’t sheep.” said Doom. Perhaps, but to a Wolf, a scared sheep is diner.

Always remember: When seconds count, the Police are only minutes away!

  8. Like the saying goes, “When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.” Evidently, in any culture.

  9. Roman,

As far as human sheep are concerned, when they get scared, initially many will submit. But if a large group begins to fear you, and no one seems to be able or willing to deal with you, sss might well become the policy if the authorities will do nothing about your aggression. If there are too many in your group? They will join. Then various groups do the sss thing to each other, ignoring normal mechanisms, even becoming aggressive to it, infiltrating it, and corrupting it. All of which China has problems with, at this point. And as they economically fade, it’s going to get ugly in there, fast.

  10. The Australians told me that knives are still better than unbanning guns, because with guns the death rate would be higher so they would rather be stabbed and survive than shot and dead.

    That’s the majority opinion.

And people wonder why freedom is such a rare commodity.

  11. An absurd notion: ordinary Chinese citizens with guns. The Party cannot even tolerate a nominal amount of free speech. They could never countenance an even more direct threat to their rule.

  12. Guns are only for farmers. Livestock, slaves, and serfs are not allowed guns.

The people of the world understand this. That’s why they are anti gun, because they are pro live stock.

  13. Also, for those that might want to bring up slaves in the South with guns, as is true in Britain, those are only used for hunting. Anyone caught using it for self defense will be prosecuted by the Law.

  14. Ban high capacity scalpels (millions dead)… I mean knives (dozens dead). No, I mean guns (thousands dead). We need scalpel control!

  15. Mike Walsh:

They can barely tolerate the hands which wield them. The intelligent designers (aka mortal gods) are only willing and capable of working with a reduced problem set.
