Don’t worry, folks — 9 Comments

  1. Just beautiful Neo. Knopfler, Atkins, and the Everly Brothers are as good as it gets for some of us. Thanks so much.

  2. I love the music of the 1950s, 60s, and into the 70s, the years of my childhood. I still have lots of LPs and 45s.

In 1968, when one of my brothers was a senior in high school, he was part of the Steering Committee who was trying to decide which band to hire for the prom. A kid came in and told them he could get the Righteous Brothers, and everybody was all, Yah, sure. It turned out the kid’s father was the group’s manager or something, and the Brothers came for free. They did their best songs, including “Unchained Melody”.

A night of a lot of slow-dancing, filled with enchantment. It was the kind of prom people dream of–well, the kind of prom people used to dream of.

The music never grows old, and it’s still the best way to dance.

  3. I love Sirius primarily for the 40’s channel on channel 4 (Howard Stern is also a motive).

Wow. So amazing, it is a revelation in itself (and the music is before I was born).

    So clever, subtle, artistic, human.

They replaced the 40’s channel with Billy Joel all the time.

Don’t get me wrong. I love the 50’s and 60’s and 70’s channels also (not as much, tho, as awesome and surprising as the 60’s channel is), and would not want them replaced. Isn’t that the point of subscribing to Sirius?

We are in a shallow and stupid time. Why knock off the 40’s channel?

  4. You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be
actually something that I think I would never understand.
It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me. I am looking forward for your next
post, I will try to get the hang of it!
