This is a defense I didn’t see coming — 25 Comments

  1. JEEPERS, Obam-Bam blaming another and detaching?? Chucky….Ohhhh, Chuckster… Swimming with slime and..and…and… Time wounds all heels, Bubba.

  2. This is what the great James Taranto calls “subvehiculation”.

If Roy Scheider’s character from Jaws saw this administration he’d say, “You’re going to need a bigger bus.”

  3. Chuck, who seems rather dense to me, has laid down with dogs and now he has fleas. Time to fall upon your RINO sword Hagel. In fact all RINOs should fall upon their mealy mouthed swords. Time for a bonfire of vanities.

  4. Then why did Obama say he did not regret HIS decision? Not he did not regret Hagel’s decision. Why was he taking credit when the White House thought there was going to be dancing in the street and general exhalations of joy for the return of the prodigal son if it was Hagel’s triumph? What a weasel either way.

  5. In so many words: a Republican did it.

Well, that’s a change in tune — NOT.

    Hagel is a sock puppet.

The issue was decided by the WH and that means Barry, Rice and Valerie girl.

  6. Chuck Hagel doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy who will go out on a limb without orders. The idea that he had an iota of autonomy in this is risible.

  7. It doesn’t work either way. First of all, he’s already stood by his decision, so he can’t blame it on Hagel. Secondly, he’s in charge of the whole shebang, so the buck can’t be passed.

Next he’ll say that he read about the decision in the newspaper.

  8. Hagel is an embarrassment to Nebraska. That being said, the likes of David Axelrod and Dan Pfeiffer are just trying to turn Hagel into a scapegoat.

But seriously, has Obama abdicated all authority? Might as well resign and put Biden in charge.

Pathetic takes on new meaning in every passing day.

  9. Barry is not going to lose Latino nor Black voters.

Barry is not going to lose cronyist linked voters.

Those three groups compose virtually every last bit of his ‘approvals.’

As long as the gibsmedats are getting…

As long as the AA crowd is entitled…

As long as the largesse is doled out on cronies…

Barry’s polls will just back and fill.

0-care has Barry Federalizing the Medical-Pharma-Insurance Cartel.

That’s a pretty hefty hunk of the polity right there.

Barry’s going to hold his own on voting blocs.

The tough sledding will come at the end of the stash.

The global contraction that appears to be underway should continue to unwind all the way to the end of Barry’s stay.

  10. Sergeant Schultz of Hogan’s Heroes had far more character than Obama. How long can he get away with his, “I know NUTHING!” or “I read it in the paper or saw it on TV” schtick?” As long as the MSM runs interference for him. The New York Times has a front page article savaging Bergdahl’s fellow soldiers. The State Department (John Kerry, did you know he served in Vietnam?) is portraying the Taliban Five as pussycats who wouldn’t harm a flea.

They are in full defense mode and may well get away with it. They keep so many new outrages coming, the old ones, like the VA, are quickly off the news. The mind boggles. Joe Sixpak, who just wants to live his life, collect a pay check, and watch some TV; has no idea.

In the meantime, we are being invaded……by Central American children. 90,000 crossed our southern border in then last twelve months. The word is out in Central America that the U.S. is about to legalize all who are here. Send the children and when they are legal, the parents can all rejoin them.

“A mother and child told CHANNEL 5 NEWS that the message being disseminated in their country is, “go to America with your child, you won’t be turned away.”

The woman, Nora Griselda Bercian Diaz, from Guatemala, said she endured threats from the Zetas and extortion from corrupt Mexican police. She eventually crossed the Rio Grande with her 6-year-old Delmi Griselda Paul Bercian by her side.

The woman said she wants a U.S. education for her daughter. “I want to study,” said the girl who hopes to one day become a doctor.

A CHANNEL 5 NEWS crew met the mother and daughter three hours after they crossed the border illegally. They were lost and searching for Border Patrol agents.

Bercian Diaz said she has no family in the United States. Her hope of staying here relies on her little girl. She said the message in her country is that America’s borders are open to all families.”

    It is to weep!

  11. It is us, Ann. Us against them that makes the world go round. Love, in the modern style.

No matter what, our friends, relatives, work place acquaintances and even spouses have long defended an untenable position that Obama was the answer or at least the beginning of one. That we stated he was the problem was the antithesis of their knowledge and belief.

We were right and they were wrong. They, through the process of hardening, have become even more inured against revelation.

I had, recently, an argument that I have not had for awhile with a friend who is an Obama admirer. His stance had changed. He couldn’t argue the facts or circumstances any more; instead, he choose the bemused view, the “I really know more view which possibly couldn’t be possessed by one as vulgar as you.” I saw it in his eyes, a twinkle that didn’t twinkle very long. I kept at it and tired him very soon. His Obama friendly attitude has morphed into attempting to keep me from making him angry and confused. He knew all the progressive talking points; I won’t repeat them here because we all know them. But what surprised me was how well I knew them; in fact, better than him.

And they are getting weaker and they know it. No polls show it yet, and they never will. Instead, there will be a quantum change and life will assert itself even as, in the attached video, it seeks for that which is true hope and true change.

  12. There was a time I would have been outraged but by now I would be surprised only if Obama did *not* pass the buck.

  13. It will work. I heard Glen Beck interview Marcus Luttrell about this issue and the VA crisis. Marcus said that he’s heard that Obama is a good guy, and that he (Obama) didn’t even know these things were going on, but that people who work for him had done it all. He said, “There’s nothing you can do if the people under you lie to you.” When I heard this, I sank into despair and I’m still there.

  14. LisaM, you mistake Luttrell’s experience, training, and expertise for fighting American governments. That’s not the case.

One field of knowledge does not transfer to any other field of knowledge.

  15. “Despair” and “It is to weep” are a phase of Kubler-Ross’ Death and Dying. They come AFTER anger, on the road to acceptance of death.
Which means we are not going to fight. The despair is very widespread.
    We accept our demise.
    We do it to ourselves.
    Quitters.

  16. Obama and the left are pursuing the old throw enough shi**y excuses at the wall of public opinion and something is bound to stick. And, if not, the low-info voter’s attention span does not extend much past the last MSM newscast…

Obama isn’t up for reelection and the democrats are not going to impeach him, so he’ll do whatever he wishes and whatever progress is made in accomplishing the left’s agenda is pure gravy.

As for the ‘illegal’ children, (how can a child be illegal?) it’s a win-win for the administration; either it increases the pressure for comprehensive amnesty such that it gets done and they get 11-33 million new democrat voters or… the evil right reveal themselves to be heartless monsters… and the low info voters remain in the democrat’s camp.

  17. I’m doing all I can short of taking up arms. I’m writing my Congress critters, I’m sending letters to the local paper, I’m e-mailing info to my correspondents, many of whom are LIVs, and I’m giving money to the Republican, Pedro Ciellis, who’s running for Congress in the fall. I am ready to take to the streets anytime the local TEA Party organizes a demonstration. I’ll be working on the campaigns of Republicans in the fall. I haven’t given up. I still breathe. I still think. Who will join me?

  18. Again, quoting James Taranto of the Wall Street Journal’s Best of the Web Today:

“It sounds as if they’re looking for a fall guy, doesn’t it? After all, the White House didn’t go out of its way to blame the death of Osama bin Laden on Bob Gates or Leon Panetta.”

  19. }}} Success has many fathers, failure is an orphan.

And where Obama is concerned, it’s an orphan with a bus.

I hear Hagel has been given a new position studying the impact of mass transit in DC…
