Steven Sotloff beheaded by ISIS?
A new video has been released purporting to show the beheading of journalist Steven Sotloff. In the James Foley video ISIS had claimed he would be next.
Although its authenticity has yet to be established, I would guess that it is exactly as stated, and that there will be more of a similar type to follow. As with Foley, Sotloff was forced to recite some claptrap for propaganda purposes, probably as a result of some extra threat or ruse by his captors. These verbal humiliations are part of the point for ISIS, in addition to the barbaric and evil method of death. The psychological and propaganda goals includes motivating anguished families to plead fruitlessly for mercy from the merciless ISIS prior to the murders of their loved ones.
May Steve Sotloff’s soul rest in peace, and may his family find some comfort for their wrenching and hideous pain. And may ISIS get what they deserve.
One can reward behavior actively by, say, giving our treats (think foreign aid) and one can reward behavior passively by simply not inflicting punishment. As Glenn Reynolds likes to point out, when you reward any particular behavior, you get more of it: Daniel Pearl*, James Foley, Steven Sotloff, . . . .

His poor family. Every parent’s heart breaks for their anguish. His mother looked like she was near the end of her rope when she made that video statement last week.

The Western world should ban the immigration or visitation of Muslims to their countries.
They should deport all non-citizen Muslims.
They should close all mosques built with foreign money.
They should close all mosques whose Imams are theologically problematic or have any ties to foreign governments or movements.
Anything less, is not a serious response to the Muslim war on the West.
Y’know, for me, I don’t want it to get to the point where I exclaim,

Part of my frustration is the refusal of our “leaders” (in quotes) to refuse to face squarely that these animals are dead serious about doing us — all of us — great harm, are our sworn enemies, and will not be placated by apology tours or other such good will gestures — for which they have only contempt. There’s only one language they’ll understand, and I don’t want it to get to that point.
But I said that already.

Unfortunately those who voted for Obama (esp. 2012) have, by their very vote, demonstrated that they can not connect their actions (or any actions) with the resulting consequences on the ground. They should have sleepless nights for a long, long time but they won’t.
Most don’t realize this but with the growth of the caliphate, the recent success of ISIS and the fecklessness of the West we are creating the need for a 21st century Battle of Poitiers/Tours. We have yet to find our Charles Martel, however.

I cannot watch these videos, but I am wondering if I should and if the Networks should run them – so we can really see the horror in front of us.
I think sooner or later we’ll have to go to war with these people. The longer we wait the worse it will be.

Historically such things happen. 250 years ago the Left was Chopping heads off by the tens of thousands on the streets of Paris. It was the best and worst of times Dickens said. Best because of the nobility opposing the slaughter brought out of some people; worst because of the slaughter.

This is just the beginning. A hint of things to come. That is so because the great majority in the West still believes that these men of ISIS are Islamic ‘radicals’. But these are not dissident heretics, they are not part of a ‘cult’, rather they are mainstream Muslims, whose actions are entirely in keeping with Islam’s tenets and dogma.
They are fanatics because if one is a devout, fundamentalist Muslim, fanaticism is a given, a necessary condition to fully embracing Islam.
There is no moderate or immoderate Islam. There are ‘cafeteria’ Muslims who pick and choose which of Islam’s tenets they practice, as the larger society within which they exist, permits. These are the ones called ‘moderate Muslims’ in the West.
There are devout Muslims who practice taqiyya (religiously approved lying) and thus pretend to be cafeteria Muslims.
However, every sincere cafeteria Muslim is in profound, willful denial as to the nature of the ‘religion; they embrace. In their ‘heart of hearts’ they KNOW the truth but tell themselves that Islam is a religion, rather than a totalitarian ideology wrapped within a facade of religiosity.
They do this both because they are moral cowards and because they are human beings with all the frailties of humanity. Were they to forthrightly face the truth about their “religion of peace”, they would either have to fully embrace its fanaticism or fully reject Islam.
They are decent enough human beings that they cannot embrace fanaticism but a Muslim who rejects Islam is guilty of apostasy and Islam has but one punishment for apostasy; death. Like the mafia, once you’re in, you’re in. If a Muslim lives in a non-Muslim majority society and a sentence of death is impractical, the other consequence for leaving Islam is complete exclusion by family and former friends and acquaintances. Islam takes ostracizing to its ultimate conclusion.
These twin consequences of a ‘moderate’ Muslim failing to reject Islam, inescapably lead to the condoning of Islam and in that looking away while still supporting this cult of death, they become culpable in Islam’s crimes.
All of this is why expulsion of all Muslims from the West is necessary. They cannot remain Muslim and not act as an enemy of the West’s most fundamental precepts and because of the twin doctrines of Taqiyya and Muruna none can be trusted to not covertly practice sedition and treason.
One of America’s founding precepts is that every human being has the right to practice whatever definition of religion they wish but every human being does not have a right to be an American or to live in a society with whose precepts they despise and work to overthrow. Membership in the House of Death is a fundamental disqualification from American citizenship.
IMO, it is highly probable that millions will die before the West will accept the truth of Islam’s nature.
Well, we haven’t seen the videos of people jumping from the Twin Towers to avoid burning to death. These, however, are available.
We have to start by admitting that dreamers of the caliphate are at war with us and have been at war with the west for the past 1,400 years. If the west could coalesce around this simple fact we could effectively address the menace. This would have to include Russia, which considering that yesterday was the 10th anniversary of the slaughter at Beslan, it might not take much effort to convince them to agree. The place to start is by ending all trade with any nation that is predominantly muslim, controlling their airspace, and blockading their ports. This could be done if the will existed.
When they have killed each other by the millions and those remaining alive are starving, they will sue to be allowed to join the modern world on whatever conditions we dictate. This should not take much longer than one year. Instead we will continue to put out fires and leave them holding the gasoline and matches.
This is just so awful.

Why would they do that when the LEft is allied with Islamic Jihad? Unlike the accusations about Bush and oil, the LEft really is in an alliance with Islamic Jihad with mutual interests.
If the Muslims didn’t have oil, no one would pay them the slightest attention. Therefore, it behooves us to, as quickly as possible, drill for, extract, and sell oil and gas all over the world. Also to expand nuclear power and research into fusion or other significant sources of power (not wind or solar, which will never produce more than a tiny fraction of the world’s power needs).
As far as the Jihadis are concerned, I have a simple answer: B-52s.
