    No, I always get spam here. My spamblock blocks about 100 spam comments per minute, but some always get through in spite of it. The thing is that I’m out of town right now, very busy, and haven’t been able to police the blog as often as I usually do. So there’s more of a time lag before I get rid of the spam, and you see more of it.

  3. It would be convenient to be able to do martial arts exercising sitting or standing. If I stand, my angle to the screen is not the same. If I’m sitting, I can only move my torso and arms, the legs don’t really get much work. Although one trick I developed was to bend my one leg so the knee is on the handrest and the ankle is on my other thigh. This helps correct the circulation and improve flexibility at the same time, to the point where I’m doing it unconsciously at times.

    Spine exercises such as rolling in a ball on a bed like surface would also correct some of the back issues by enlarging the range of movement to 100% of the joint’s extent, fixing some of the stress damage that comes from blood and tissue being frozen in an immobile chunk at the chair. It’s better and safer than head ache causing neck cracks.

    The New Spammers use the website link in their profile while commenting. Most spam filters filter out the links in the comment itself, which is why people get blocked if they over link or do multiple long comments with links.

    I don’t think the techno gurus have started blocking the website space up above here. I mean, it’s not even an option to turn it off.

  4. The stand up desk sounds like a good thing. I’m sure it takes some getting used to, but the body adopts to things like standing or even walking slowly and working.

    At my age, sitting is definitely not good for me. If I sit for thirty minutes uninterrupted, I’m a bit stiff when I get up. So, I get up every ten minutes or so to walk around, do some stretching, or do a few squats. That way I don’t get stiff.

  5. I would really appreciate being able to work like this! I am not good at sitting still and my work requires a lot of hours at a desk.

    I believe sitting for long hours is probably one of the more damaging things we humans can do to ourselves, yet most of us do a lot of it.

  6. In addition to the physical benefits I find there are some things my brain does better when I am active. Foreign language study, for example. I make the biggest strides when drilling vocabulary and clauses while riding a stationary bicycle, jogging or walking. I found pacing helped with history and some science. Classical music helps with math.

    It’s a shame schools expect kids to sit in desks for 6 hours a day.
