The case against Darren Wilson unravels
Leaks from the grand jury testimony indicate that Darren Wilson was probably well within his rights to shoot Michael Brown in self-defense.
See this in the WaPo, of all places:
…[M]ore than a half-dozen unnamed black witnesses have provided testimony to a St. Louis County grand jury that largely supports Wilson’s account of events of Aug. 9, according to several people familiar with the investigation who spoke with The Washington Post.
Some of the physical evidence ”” including blood spatter analysis, shell casings and ballistics tests ”” also supports Wilson’s account of the shooting, The Post’s sources said, which cast Brown as an aggressor who threatened the officer’s life. The sources spoke on condition of anonymity because they are prohibited from publicly discussing the case…
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch late Tuesday night published Brown’s official county autopsy report, an analysis of which also suggests the 18-year-old may not have had his hands raised when he was fatally shot, as has been the contention of protesters who have demanded Wilson’s arrest.
Experts told the newspaper that Brown was first shot at close range and may have been reaching for Wilson’s weapon while the officer was still in his vehicle and Brown was standing at the driver’s side window. The autopsy found material “consistent with products that are discharged from the barrel of a firearm” in a wound on Brown’s thumb, the autopsy says.
I have yet to see any forensic evidence that supports the contentions of the anti-Wilson camp.
But that probably won’t be enough to stop the furor if Wilson isn’t indicted. Here’s an interesting theory, though, on why so much of this information is being allowed to be leaked now:
…[F]ormer St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch says it’s no accident the feds are allowing the information.
…Fitch calls the information from the investigation coming out as phase two ”“ to “coordinate leaks to the media, and to start getting some of the facts out there to kind of let people down slowly,” he says. “When I say this is phase two ”“ phase one was really Eric Holder’s announcement how they were going to basically do a complete review and take over the Ferguson Police Department.”
Fitch says he thinks the feds recognize that it’s “probably very unlikely” that there’s going to be charges against Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson.
…Fitch believes the New York Times story is just a preview of what’s to come over the next few weeks.
In other words, he believes the press and the feds are trying to soothe the anger—anger they had a role in encouraging by their initial coverage—in order to avoid a scene like the 1992 riots in LA after the Rodney King verdict.
Fan the flames of rage for sensationalistic coverage, and then try to put out the fire? I’m not even sure that’s what the MSM is trying to do here, but if so, it’s like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.

Exactly how high Brown’s hands were has been inconsistent in the accounts, and at least one witness said that after Brown was shot, he appeared to take a step toward Wilson. That witness said, however, Brown had his arms around his stomach before hitting the ground.

Quote from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that WaPo is referencing; “Dr. Judy Melinek, a forensic pathologist in San Francisco, said… A sixth shot that hit the forearm traveled from the back of the arm to the inner arm, which means Brown’s palms could not have been facing Wilson”

Perhaps the more tragic side of this is that they have no sense of their lack of principles in this. To them as one of their idols said “There Is Only the Fight.” And the end justifies whatever means are needed,
So the Praetorian Media will move heaven and earth to give or retain power to their pseudo gods. No matter how many innocent eggs are broken in the process. 🙁

Just remember that in Florida the prosecution ignored the evidence from the police investigation into the shooting to put Zimmerman on trial. It was like the old USSR show trials. I’m surprised the judge didn’t instruct the jury to ignore the evidence and bring a guilty verdict.

I hope no one is hurt, but the rioting will only highlight what a lawless society we have become.

Their only ‘principle’ is attainment of power through the advancement of the ideology.
Black subculture, to the extent it exists, is largely emotional and expressive rather than rational. It’s no accident that there are few black engineers, accountants, and scientists. Gun powder residue on Brown’s hand, his blood in the car, on the gun and on the cop and injuries to the cop say the kid was attacking the cop in the car.
I can’t believe the Ferguson-derived campaign material being pushed in Georgia. And it’s being published by the national Democratic Party.
Sadly, it’s likely to work.

I don’t think this leak is to “let the protesters down easy”–just the opposite, it’s to provide some incentive to get African Americans to vote in the midterms. The final word of the grand jury isn’t scheduled to come out until after the elections.
African American voting is typically lighter in midterm elections. No matter that all the evidence and autopsy findings point to Wilson’s innocence of any wrongdoing, African Americans simply won’t believe any of it. Wilson gunned down the surrendering angelic child execution-style in their minds, and nothing will get them to believe otherwise. The Democrats are hoping by leaking out the news that “whitey is going to get away with murder” a few weeks before midterms will motivate them to go to the polls.
And all this time and pile-on and blather and blame and assumption by the slicks and their minions. To ruin an honorable policeman doing his job and mobilize the Victimhood Crowd for Democrat polls in November. Pathetic. Loathsome.
When I see pictures of these thugs, I think what they must have looked like at 2 sitting in a buggy while their mother went through the grocery store. Did they get excited about choosing crayons and pencils for their first day of school? Did they get some books for their birthdays and Christmas? Did they ever watch Old Yeller with their parents or have a dad show them how to pitch a baseball? By middle school age, did they help fix breakfast on weekends or learn to watch out for their younger brothers and sisters? In high school, did they volunteer at a nursing home or take a meal to an elderly neighbor? What kind of music did these kids hear at home?
What happened to Travon and Michael started long before they were shot, and the police were not responsible. And my comments are not just about blacks. There are whites who should be asking the same questions.

the above is what i learned growing up in the same neighborhood with the people in question, going to school, and eventually working hard to escape – by going to bronx science, and living on a park bench when socilists denied me assistance for college (to help skew numbers in favor of women), or now, where i am not allowed to earn a raise, or a promotion no matter what i do or accomplish (as they are reserved for these other more special equal people)
