Now, here’s a creative guy — 5 Comments

  1. …I thought the “enhancements” the article mentioned he’d already added were kinda cute too.

I’m wondering if someone is already writing the screen play for this (my bet? – yes, as of this morning: it almost writes itself …and if the trailer’s even barely good enough, I’ll buy the Bluray lol).

I’m a stone-cold romance old-school type though, so my tendency is to see this through classic rom-com eyes if you will (i.e., innocently). An Austenite for sure.

Some of the Reddit comments are worth smiling about too.

And …well, I’d say his pix puts him solidly in the “cute guy” category btw. “Trip Around the World Guy”, indeed.

I wish success to him in all the traditional senses of his search.

  2. Neo, I think we are all a bit worn out with the good fun news of the past few days but I will throw my comment in on this post. I married a lovely widow when we were in our 40’s and her first husband’s name was Joe Bob, my is Joe Ben so when she is a bit miffed with me all she has to say is Joe, your a dumb ass, etc. and she never calls me by the word name. Fortunately we are in love enough and old enough that she cuts me a lot of slack and we don’t seem to ever trade words anymore. That’s the best I can do.

  3. Hmm… sounds like an islamic name, modified perhaps. My only advice is to be very careful in sharia based stop-overs. Actually, anywhere else. Nothing is free. Then again, how many women don’t actually know that? Choices. Consequences. Most of the rest of the world are a bit more practical, so offer very few protections for women, especially stupid ones.

  4. I dunno. There’s a really fine line between extravagently romantic and creepy, and I’m not at all sure which applies in this case. Neo, you are the credentialed expert — which do you think it is?

  5. Dale Light:

    Actually, I don’t think it’s either.

I think he’s just frugal. He’s got the ticket, it’s in her name, it’s non-transferable, he wants a taker for it. He doesn’t even necessarily want to be with the person once they reach each destination. They just have to follow the already-set itinerary. However, he will choose among the candidates, so I assume he will choose someone he likes best. But there’s no explicit romantic agenda at all. I’m the one imagining the romantic agenda. I imagine, though, that he wouldn’t be upset if it were to happen.

He’s lucky his ex-fiancee has a fairly common name, though. His work would have been cut out for him had she been named Rowena McThusle, for example.
