Did you know? The police have a new function [emphasis mine]:
Scarborough argued that police activity in minority communities is based on crime data.
“If you’re a black cop and you see me walking down the street, and you see an 18-year-old black guy walking down the street in the south Bronx, and you’re told to stop and frisk, your job is to stop crime based on data,” Scarborough said, “What do you do as a black cop? Do you go, ‘I’m going to go across the street and frisk the white dude who looks like he lives in Connecticut?'”
Guest Dorian Warren, an assistant professor at Columbia University, countered that policies such as stop-and-frisk are flawed and skew the crime data.
“I would say the white dude is in that neighborhood to buy drugs,” Warren said.
Co-host Mika Brzezinski said both men in Scarborough’s scenario should be frisked.
“It should not be based on the data,” Brzezinski said. “It should be based on moving society forward, and treating whites and blacks equally.”
“A cop is not out on the street going, ”˜You know what I’m going to do today? I’m going to move our society forward,’” Scarborough screamed. “A cop on the street has one job: to protect the people in that neighborhood. It is not to make a statement that makes prime-time people on MSNBC feel better about America.”
Maybe we should just throw some random white people in jail so that their percentages of incarceration equal those of blacks. And let’s frisk everyone, so no one feels singled out.
After all, everybody’s here to “move society forward.” The press should do that rather than report the news accurately. Social scientists should repress any research that doesn’t yield results that are PC. People who contribute to non-PC causes should be hounded from their jobs. And so on, till we reach that wonderful utopia we’re all striving for:

Such crimes are NOT made from poverty. They are made on IMPULSE — typically within their families. This aspect of violent crime is NEVER portrayed in fiction.
Every now and then, you’ll see a docu-drama evidencing it.
Unlike TV, most crimes start out with witnesses and perp descriptions. This is what is triggering stop & frisk.
The number one reason for ‘unsolved’ Black violent crime: the perp is not going to be turned in by his kin. So you get “cookie jar” excuses as to the source of a tragedy.

Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and eight times more likely to commit robbery.

Hispanics commit violent crimes at roughly three times the white rate, and Asians commit violent crimes at about one quarter the white rate. [my emphasis]

Interracial Crime
Of the nearly 770,000 violent interracial crimes committed every year involving blacks and whites, blacks commit 85 percent and whites commit 15 percent.
Blacks commit more violent crime against whites than against blacks. Forty-five percent of their victims are white, 43 percent are black, and 10 percent are Hispanic. When whites commit violent crime, only three percent of their victims are black.
Blacks are an estimated 39 times more likely to commit a violent crime against a white than vice versa, and 136 times more likely to commit robbery.
Blacks are 2.25 times more likely to commit officially-designated hate crimes against whites than vice versa.
Gangs
Only 10 percent of youth gang members are white.
Hispanics are 19 times more likely than whites to be members of youth gangs. Blacks are 15 times more likely, and Asians are nine times more likely.
Incarceration
Between 1980 and 2003 the US incarceration rate more than tripled, from 139 to 482 per 100,000, and the number of prisoners increased from 320,000 to 1.39 million.
Blacks are seven times more likely to be in prison than whites. Hispanics are three times more likely.”
In 2010, Vermont had the lowest gun murder rate in the country per 100,000 at 0.3%. Washington DC had the highest gun murder rate at 16.5%. Vermont is 95.3% white and 1% black. Washington DC is 37% white and 47% black, the highest percentage in the nation. The top gun murder rates in states and black and Hispanic population percentages closely correlate. Asian percentages do NOT correlate, which IMO means that it is NOT race that is the determinative factor but culture.

-Blacks and Hispanics together accounted for 98% of all gun assailants
-49 of every 50 muggings and murders were carried out by blacks or Hispanics

Suddenly, they’re not interested in statistics. Not even extrapolation from isolated or exceptional circumstances to form general conclusions or establish a general premise.
What prompted the social complex to respect individual dignity?
Do they also acknowledge intrinsic value or is that a step too far?
This is exemplary of pro-choice policies. They cannot be selective and then mount an effective defense on principle. There must be probable cause to justify accommodating exceptions.
There are two basic principles: individual dignity and intrinsic value. There are two basic orders (i.e. motive forces): natural and conscious. Go forth and reconcile.

The common observation that poverty causes violent crime is just not so. Three states with lots of poverty are Maine, West Virginia, and South Dakota. Their respective rankings on violent crime are 50th, 39th, and 46th. They have very small black populations.
In actuality, the white guy who looks like he doesn’t belong in the neighborhood is going to get the cop to speak with him, which may lead to a search if the guy is evasive or skittish. I’ve seen that very thing some 15 years ago when I did a ride along with a cop. It was the projects, he and his partner knew the white people who lived their on sight. Two white guys were driving around, they got stopped, I don’t remember the probable cause. As it ended up, the passenger had gun in a duffel bag which he admitted to and was arrested.
To make their scenario work, you have to make both the Black and White person look like they are not out of their element. Then who does the Black cop stop?

I heard about a grad student who rode along with Denver cops for part of his thesis work. The grad student was impressed by how well the cops knew their neighborhoods. So, your “on sight” description is par for the course.

I was profiled (appropriately) in the early 90s driving into Washingtin Heights which was a huge coke and crack supermarket. I recall when my MiL was searching for a place to rent for her new job in the ’90s. She is hispanic, and she claimed “the best place to live has a MIX of people”. The places she zeroed in on, however, had a mix that was about 90% white or more, with just enough minorities so that she wouldn’t be the only one.

Statistics from so long ago are, analytically, useless.
It may strike you as odd, but until Big Government — and DOJ grants — epic statistical surveys were never compiled. This changed with the Nixon administration. By executive order Nixon established an office within the DOJ to enforce the Civil Rights statutes, and AA, that the Democrats had talked big about — and then did nothing on the enforcement front.
One of the VERY first things this new office did was to compile statistics — which would then become the basis for various legal proceedings.
This was also at a time when computing power had finally gotten cheap enough, big enough, that national stats were no longer daunting.

It was HIS database that FIRST revealed the stats that are now commonly reported — including herein, above.
The FBI — at the time — was astounded. Database software and analysis were BOTH brand new in the early 1970s. They were extensions of Operational Analysis — which was brand new back in WWII.

Tea Party Mom Wins $1.12M for False Prosecution

Genovese was arrested while taking pictures of a decorative helicopter in front of the Gabreski Airport Air National Guard base in Westhampton Beach for a “Support Our Troops” website. She was charged with criminal trespass and spent four days in jail before the charges were dropped.
Southhampton cops searched her and found a legally owned rifle that she was transporting from a nearby rifle range. She contends a deputy sheriff arrived on the scene later and said to her, “I bet you are one of those Tea Party people.” When Genovese said she’s gone to Tea Party rallies, he allegedly said, “You’re a real right-winger, aren’t you?” and “You are a ‘Teabagger’” and then added that she’d be arrested for terrorism to make an example of other “right wingers.”
“Ms. Genovese was subjected to a level of abuse because [authorities] did not share the same political views as she did and saw this as an excuse to deny her even the most basic civil rights,” her lawyer Frederick Brewington said.​​
Genovese said in a statement said she was “relieved” by the jury’s verdict. She added, “if this can happen to me, and officers can abuse their power like this, I can only imagine how other people who are not as fortunate as me have been treated.”
When Barak Obama was running for office there was a number of people making the case that racism would get better.
I know many police officers in CT, who would recount now many times black police officers suffered more in black neighborhoods than white police officers.
Time and again I was told when a black police officer arrested blacks they were treated like Uncle Toms and betrayers of black people. So often black officers didn’t want to work in black precincts because of the ugly way they were treated.
Heather MacDonald writes tirelessly about how black activists hurt poor black neighborhoods. Before stop and frisk apartments were over run with drug dealers and drug attics doing business in their halls in order to stay out of sight of cameras and police. This brought much more chaos and other criminal activities along with the drugs.
Now the neighborhoods are cleaned up and maybe we can look at different ways to have better relationships within a community, but instead the Left wants to dismantle what made the streets safe for the elderly and children.
It is hard to believe that anyone group of people can look at the world and come to exact wrong conclusion, nearly 100% of the time, as much as the Left does. For that matter, I would applaud the Left’s near perfect record if it didn’t do so much harm.
