ISIS atrocity; Jordan responds — 47 Comments

  1. There had better be a special place in hell for people animals who burn a human alive!! Horrifying and maddening!! The response from Jordan is correct and appropriate.

  2. i have no words.

[NOTE:Obama, of course, would have released Rishawi and the four others for Bowe Bergdahl.]

    Worst. President. Ever.

  3. The appropriate response will not occur as our beloved leaders goal is to degrade the US world position.

Victor Davis Hanson has a good article “Obama Does have a strategy” in today’s National Review online. As usual Hanson nails it.

  4. Supposedly, these acts of depravity are a recruitment tool so I guess it is geared to attract sadists, sociopaths, and “betas”, aka squirrels and w@nkers, by our standards. Have I got that right? I realize that the recruits are just tools, but this is supposed to be the glory, the flower, of Islam? Not exactly, Saladin, who supposedly brought the concept of chivalry and honor to barbaric Europe.

  5. It’s always interesting to see how a leftist website deals with something like this. TPM, for instance, seems to have only this to say about it: “Fox News Airs Graphic Image Of Islamic State Prisoner On Fire”

That’s the ticket, go after Fox News. Really have their priorities straight, don’t they? And the comments are something to behold.

  6. King Abdullah II is kind of a Renaissance Man, trained at Sandhurst, so it could get interesting.

  7. While I think it was good of Fox News, and others, to link to the video even if I didn’t watch it myself; I also like the idea found on the above link for LegalInsurrection (first link in your post, Neo) – share the photo of that young pilot standing, all smiles, in front of the Hagia Sophia. Remember Moaz al-Kasasbeh well and in better times. May his family find peace.

And, may the King of Jordon stay the course and kill as many of those bastards as possible.

  8. There’s nothing I can think of to say that will go beyond denouncement of ISIS and then the US administration and whatever it has in its head. I’m holding back on ad hominems directed at Obama — though I wonder more and more about his longterm friendship/connection with Bill Ayers and how they actually see the world, what they intend in these lame-duck last two years.

I do know that as a voter I will punish Democrats forever because of Obama, flipping from a straight-ticket Dem voter to the opposite. There must be many of us out there who feel similarly. I await and anticipate the 2016 election. I fear the ticking moments until then.

  9. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Burn them out without mercy. Until we in the west become relentless and resolute we are doomed to defeat.

  10. Exasperated Says:
“I realize that the recruits are just tools, but this is supposed to be the glory, the flower, of Islam?”

No. Everyone can breath a sigh of relief.

The standard Islamic death penalty is by beheading or crucifixion not burning alive. The beheading videos are authentic Islam according to Sharia law but this murder is not. Those penalties are supposed to be reserved for non-Muslims or common criminals and are not valid for other Muslims captured in battle.

“Not exactly, Saladin, who supposedly brought the concept of chivalry and honor to barbaric Europe.”

I’m glad you qualified this statement. The myth of the peaceful multicultural Andalusia dies hard.

Incidentally, thanks to the American left and activist judges the first Sharia court in the USA is now operating in Irving Texas. Never fear say the Imams who are running it, they do not intend to cut off heads or chop off hands – yet.

  11. Thank you, Harold, for the tip to Victor Davis Hanson at NR Online. His description of progressive thinking about foreign policy seem correct and that thinking is quite contrary to how most Americans think. But, it’s not just the seven Obama administration leaders who think that way; there are probably a few million American progressives who do. And there seems to be millions more low-information Americans who support this side because of their proclaimed good intentions.

  12. This is ISIS spitting in the face of western civilization.
These videos and their ever ratcheting violence not only serve as recruitment tools for psychopaths, they are an ever more intense insult to the west. They grow ever more vicious because they know the west’s political class fears to act.

The paralysis of the west is (correctly) viewed as fear (fear that is by our so called leaders who would have their own mothers burned to maintain the status quo) in the muslim world.

While such barbaric displays may bring the psychos and loser wannabes flocking to the ISIS banner, far more dangerously they show the rest of the muslim world that the west is afraid to act, which brings far more to their side, or silences them through fear and intimidation.

After the coming bloody war which is inevitable, history will look back on this period and ask how our so called leaders could have failed to act when they could have easily eliminated this scum from the face of the earth.

I pray that poor man’s suffering was brief and that his family’s suffering be relieved. I pray the same for the others brutally murdered and for their families.

I also hope these cowardly murderers suffer this fate a hundredfold.

  13. All King Abdullah II need do is recall what his father, King Hussein, did to the Palestinians back in 1970. Not long after Black September, Oriana Fallaci interviewed Yasir Arafat. Never one to shirk from embarrassing questions, Madame Fallaci asked Arafat who killed more Palestinians- Arabs or Israelis. Arafat ruefully admitted that Arabs killed more Palestinians than Israelis did. Arafat must have been thinking of Black September.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_September_in_Jordan

  14. “….who killed more Palestinians…”

It really doesn’t matter who kills more Palestinians. In that department, the Arabs win hands down.

    That is not the issue.

What does matter—what is THE issue— is the need to destroy the Zionist Entity.

    (Justice, etc…..)

And to do that, many more Palestinians will have to die, either at Palestinian/Arab hands or Israel’s.

Shaheeds one and all of them.

To be sure, their deaths/killings will be Israel’s fault, etc., etc., because if Israel didn’t exist, etc., etc…….
    ===
As for “….some wealthy American Jews who are behind the campaign to unseat Prime Minister Netanyahu”,

….well, everyone knows—-the narrative says so—-that if it weren’t for Bibi, then peace would be flourishing between Israel and Palestine.

And in the entire Middle East.

    And around the world.

Yes, Bibi is the cause for all the world’s monstrosities (OK, let’s be fair here: MOST of the world’s monstrosities.

    Yes, it’s all about Bibi.

Ergo, if Bibi is booted out, peace will break out all over.

(And if peace does not, for some crazy reason, break out all over, then we can still blame Bibi—for missing all those golden opportunities for making peace with his Partners in Peace, Inc.)

It’s all very simple, you see…..

  15. It just struck me, forcibly, that the Left really DOES know that islam is decidedly not a “religion of peace.” Because their actions are all predicated on the assumption — the fear — that the hundreds of millions of them will spring to war, knives in their teeth, thirsting for non-moslem blood, if we so much as say “Naff off!” to them, let alone fight them.

It’s pitiful, really. They do seem to believe that if they chant kumbaya bullsh** at the moslem nutters, the nutters will be persuaded to think of themselves in a whole new light.

    They really are deranged.

  16. My view of the left is much darker than Beverly’s view. I agree that the left really does know that that Islam is decidedly not a “religion of peace”. Many of them are among the most intelligent people on the planet. If we can figure it out ofcourse they know too. However I believe that their actions are all predicted on their admiration of Islam – not fear. They love the fact that Islam is a totalitarian regime which is terrorizing other people just like the leftist regimes terrorize people. Let’s not not forget that the left murdered about 100,000,000 people last century alone without any regrets.

  17. Will full support of jordan action which shold be done two years ago, the fact is these criminal the dont desarve to live between us they ar sick in mind that they dangerous to all spices include human on earth.

In sam talken, i hope the world stand all to finish these coward criminals and there supporter in the region

  18. Go Neo! Do you see that you have a Japanese reader, using one of those translate programs to comment? Another way you’ve hit the big time! Congratulations.

  19. In 2005, Jordanian cops busted a plot to blow up several western dipplemat facilities with truck bombs. The explosives were supposedly sufficient to flatten everything within a four-kilometer radius. In addition, there were reports of poison gas to be released.
Back in the day, I looked for reports of where all this stuff came from and got nothing. I’m sure somebody knows, but if it happened to be Saddaam’s stuff placed in the Bekaa valley, the left sure wouldn’t want anybody to know.
Some reports speculated that the explosions and gas would have killed more people than died on 9-11.
I suppose these clowns think they have a strategy, but arranging for people to kill them doesn’t seem to lead anywhere.

  20. “Thank you, Harold, for the tip to Victor Davis Hanson at NR Online. His description of progressive thinking about foreign policy seem correct and that thinking is quite contrary to how most Americans think.”

As I mentioned to Neo in a PM, VDH’s column is right on the money. His description may not be how most Americans think, but it is EXACTLY how 90% of academics think. And with their influence in the Education departments, churning out “proper thinking” K-12 teachers, and their indoctrination of all other undergrads, “most Americans” are progressively turning to their way of thinking.

  21. Assuming zombies can think at least. It looks more like a facsimile of reason and logic. Logic used only to kill the capability to reason, rationalization used expressly to avoid realizing the logical consequences of their evil habits.

  22. Of course it’s absurd – and typical — for TPM to twist the ISIS story to blame Fox News for airing the picture. However. Fox repeatedly ran several still pictures of the young pilot in its cage during its newscasts last night, including one in which he was partially on fire. I am furious with the network for showing them. If ISIS releases these images of barbarous torture and murder for propaganda purposes — and apparently it does, and unaccountably it works — why on earth would those of us who claim to be civilized help them by spreading the imagery? What good does it do to counterbalance the harm? Reporting the facts would have been horror enough — and reporting them while showing that earlier picture of the smiling young man in his pilot gear would have done just as much to outrage most of us, while cutting off the appeal to those twisted souls who are susceptible to confusing barbarity as glamour. Fox isn’t to blame for what happened to that pilot, but deserves to be criticized for showing those pictures.

  23. miklos000rosza:”I do know that as a voter I will punish Democrats forever because of Obama, flipping from a straight-ticket Dem voter to the opposite. There must be many of us out there who feel similarly.”

While I would like to share your idea that there are many democrats out there that have seen the error of their ways, reality doesn’t prove that.

How else do you account for the 50% approval rating of Obummer? I see now where the IRS has determined the illegals are now “entitled” to tax credits for children.

Although I can’t stand the narcissistic fool in the WH, I’m more concerned about the silent elephant in the room that everyone has their head in the sand. When Reagan left office, he was concerned about the $2 trillion in debt. Obozo has no concern for the growing 18 Trillion in debt.

Imagine an NFL football field including the end zones. Now imagine this area stacked with $100 bills stacked 10 feet high.
Got that picture in your mind? or go here for a visual idea
    http://veteran-patriot.com/2012/05/30/a-physical-concept-of-money/
Now imagine 18 of these money piles.
That is the size of the National debt. How do you think we are going to pay the interest on the debt let alone pay it off?
Assuming 330 million people in the US and a normal 4% interest rate the interest is equivalent to $2,181.18/ person/year.
In the movie “Thelma and Louise”, did it matter who was driving the car? Just something to think about?

  24. “Obozo has no concern for the growing 18 Trillion in debt…”

    No concern? NO CONCERN?

    Of course he’s concerned.

He’s concerned it’s too low. Way too low.

And he’ll do his darnedest to get it as high as he can.

File under: Going concern (as in, “We’re going to blow this place sky high”).

  25. Fox isn’t to blame for what happened to that pilot, but deserves to be criticized for showing those pictures.

That’s what Europeans said about Charlie Hebdo’s desecration of Islamic Mohammeds.

  26. I think Dennis @5:17 nails it…

However, I disagree with his statement regarding the left that ” Many of them are among the most intelligent people on the planet.”

If they really were that intelligent, would they be leftists to begin with?

  27. Tim P says:
“If they really were that intelligent, would they be leftists to begin with?”

One of the fundamental myths of the French Enlightenment is that moral behavior is subject to reason just like math and science. In view of the great advances in physics by Sir Isaac Newton who appeared to have an explanation for the mechanics of the entire universe, one can understand the naivete of the French philosophes that reason itself would soon heal the planet. In retrospect their arrogance is so misguided it is almost cute.

Subsequent history has not been kind to the philosophes’ illusions. It turns out that human desire is not subject to reason but rather reason is the slave of human desire. The most wicked people are often the most intelligent who use their reason very effectively to enable them to outwit and destroy anyone who opposes their wicked plots. The only cure for human wickedness is spiritual healing – the very thing which the leftist hate.

  28. The US should begin trials of the prisoners at Guantanamo, so we we too have some suspended death sentences which can quickly be un-suspended if need be.

  29. Obama reminds of Nero. Fiddling while Rome burns. Whether it is intentional or just incompetence matters little. What matters is for the majority of citizens to understand what is happening and why. The future of the country depends on awakening the citizenry to the Islamic blueprint for a world theocracy.

Here’s a link to a video that lays out the strategy of the Religion of Peace. It will get your attention.
    http://vimeo.com/52771987

Send it to all your friends and, if you dare, to your lefty acquaintances.

  30. Tim P says:
“If they really were that intelligent, would they be leftists to begin with?”

By their fruits you shall know them …

  31. Dennis (just above) mentions “…fundamental myths of the French Enlightenment…”. The Enlightenment was indeed a leap forward from religious concepts of man. The high ideals of the Enlightenment won’t stand up to scientific scrutiny about what is the real nature of man, however. One of Darwin’s key points is that fierce competition within species evolves strong instincts to compete for STATUS as well as to collaborate.

  32. “One of the fundamental myths of the French Enlightenment is that moral behavior is subject to reason just like math and science.”

Actually that idea’s been around since at least the time of Plato and Aristotle. The idea that “reason is, and ought only to be, the slave of the passions” didn’t really take off till the 18th century.

  33. Ymarsakar: the two things are not comparable at all, as you know full well. I’m not suggesting that Fox desecrated anything by showing those pictures. I don’t care if anyone was offended that Fox showed the pictures. I’m suggesting that showing the pictures was helpful to ISIS in its propaganda goals and its terror goals, and that Fox did so for no good reason that I can think of other than to exploit the horror and make money.

  34. I’ve been standing by for Obama’s response to the brutal murder of the Jordanian pilot. Did I miss it?

  35. Dennis,
I couldn’t agree more with your statement, “The only cure for human wickedness is spiritual healing — the very thing which the leftist hate.”

However, regarding this statement, ” The most wicked people are often the most intelligent who use their reason very effectively to enable them to outwit and destroy anyone who opposes their wicked plots.” I think intelligent is perhaps being conflated with cunning or clever.

I’ve met con men who are clever and cunning but I think that if they were really intelligent, they wouldn’t fall into those traps to begin with.
Hence the old saying when someone gets caught up in their own lies and subterfuge, “too clever by half.”

But I do fully agree with you that the left is fully aware of just what the islamists are, but view them as unlikely allies for the time being. All the while arrogantly feeling that they (the left) are superior, smarter if you will, and they will dispense with them when the time comes.

I think they would be in for quite a shock as Neo has quoted Nazar Afisi and her husband being when the islamists in Iran eliminated the leftists after deposing the Shah.

  36. The original Mr. X Says:

“Actually that idea’s been around since at least the time of Plato and Aristotle. The idea that “reason is, and ought only to be, the slave of the passions” didn’t really take off till the 18th century.”

I’m not talking about what is supposed to be but rather what is. Alan F has fingered the problem with the French Enlightenment. Anyone who is interested in the scientific explanation for human behavior needs to begin with Darwin’s book “The Descent of Man”. I do admit that I am puzzled by Alan F’s premise that a theory which is based on false premises is “a leap forward.”

  37. IMO airplanes crashing into the twin towers should be shown for 10 minutes on the hour of every tv broadcast. But that’s just me in flyover country.
